I used to like the forest team of the 80s and early 90s some quality players back then like Clough,Pearce,Walker Jemson ,woan the list goes on. I remember Ian Woan! When did you start following Forest then, Mark? Do you not remember the 3rd place finish in 1995 and the run to the UEFA cup Quarter-Finalss that followed it? (that kind of run was about as good as English teams got back then, except for in the Cup Winners' Cup) Or how about winning Division One in 1998? I can't quite remember that far back. The first time I really remember supporting them was '96-'97 when I got my first Premier League sticker book ( ). I vaguely remember the relagation. I know my first game was the season after but I can't remember what it was... It wasn't really until the season after that I can properly remember things (the 1-8 defeat to Man Utd is still quite clear).

Look at all those midfielders! I'd expect you to stay up next season, especially if you improve the squad. Mid-table sounds realistic. Congratulations on getting promoted Yeah, loads of em, and none were any good LOL. Most only played a few games... Evans was a good player, a real battler, wanted to keep him. And Commons was good but he's probably better now. Derry was ok but was only on loan, everyone else would say is worse than our current midfield of Clingan, Davies, McGugan, Cohen, McLeary and Thornhill.

Derbynil the worst Premiership team ever, Leicester down, Forest up, Forest Reserves walking the League, Forest Ladies promoted to the Premiership. Don't quite think the season could've ended any better. Suppose Stags staying up would've been good for Notts football and a minor miracle next sunday to send Mugson back to the CCC would be nice.

It wasn't *that* bad, it didn't help though that the only reason we went up was because of the goals of Van Hooijdonk and Campbell and they'd gone on strike and were sold respectively so didn't have them to stay up. Any team that loses their best two players is going to have a hard time next season...

If it were up to me I'd give you some... Our reserves were pretty much all academy kids this year, a first teamer played the odd game on the road to recovery. They walked the league losing only which was after they'd already won it, it wasn't an easy league either. There were a fair few Championship teams who often played players with Championship experience against us. I think a fair few of them will go on loan, whether CC decides that the Blue Square or not is high enough I don;t know...

I've even changed my name back! I honestly still feel like I'm in dreamland. It feels so great to have finally got back to the CCC after three years down in League 1. I'm not old enough to remember any other success we've had but it feels unbelievable to finally have something to celebrate. Against all the odds too, came from miles behind playing awful, dull, negative football but somehow managed to string four wins together right when it mattered to take advantage of stuttering teams. I've never heard such a cheer or felt the ground shake as much I did when Cheltenham scored their second goal. It's only up to the Championship and it may be a far cry from our European successes of 30 years ago but it's still incredible. It's what being a football fan is all about, so pleased right now. Congratulations! Having been there before i know exactly how you feel. The difference is you were to witness promotion, which makes it even more special. With this being your 3rd season pushing for promotion Forest are clearly ready for the Championship (teams that take time to win promotion are normally successful, Reading and Ipswich being the best examples) and you seem to be a side that performs best when under less pressure, and as you'll be under no pressure to perform next season i reckon you'll do well in the Championship, somewhere in the top half. Given the unpredictable nature of the Championship this season and looking at how well Bristol City have done anything's possible though! I did notice that Tyson chipped in with a few goals recently. Had he not missed a large portion of the season i reckon he would have finished with at least 20 goals, could have helped you wrap up promotion sooner too.

Kris Commons has left the club and is likely to move to Derby. Judas. Worst news is our pie sales will fall 20% as a result.

We've made our first signing of the summer as Rob Earnshaw joins for £2.65m just a day after the chairman telling us it might be a while before any signings are announced. Really glad with the signing, he's always done well at Championship level and getting atleast one proven striker was definitely our priority! Also, spending £2.65m shows we're back and ready to compete!

Dont overspend though, that's what always worries me about teams like yourself, I bet he's on daft wages as well! Will you get money for Commons, or is he a Bosman? Earnshaw will probably be ok at this level, it's a big spend for a team just promoted to the championship though, hope it wasn't a rash buy?

Not sure about Earnshaw, he's a bit of a journeyman. He's certainly not the player he was, but it depends on Forests ambitions. If challenging for promotion is the objective then I don't think he's good enough, but if Forest want to consolidate themselves in the Championship for one season before they go for a promotion push then he should be a decent signing for next season.

I'm not too worried about money, our chairman is a very wealthy man and has been a Forest fan man and boy unlike all of the billionaires at Premiership clubs. If he's prepared to put his own money into the club then I think we'll be a success. He's nowl earned from his mistakes of the past 10 years or so and has clearly got ambitions above Championship level and with the transfer policy we now have at the club I think we'll be fine. We're in a far better position than we've been in since I started to support us.

He's always scored goals at this level though... He put them in for fun at Derby and at West Brom in the Premiership before Bryan Robson came in and dropped him. He scored something like 27 in 45 League games for Norwich who were poor. He flopped at Derby but who didn't? Even Derby fans say Van Nistlerooy and Owen up front would maybe have got 5 with their service they'd get...
