No it wasn't offside. But that doesn't excuse Mourinho's whingeing. No doubt he's already forgotten the penalty they got against Liverpool. The fact that a previous decision was wrong should have no bearing on the matter.

After 6 lots of games I really don't think that's too bad at all.

Yeah, there were a few bad weeks at the start, then nothing glaring in the past few weeks except for that kalou "offside"...

The fact that a previous decision was wrong should have no bearing on the matter. Of course it should have no bearing on the matter. But my point is that Mourinho is constantly moaning about decisions which go against Chelsea (he still regularly brings up the Liverpool goal in the Champions league in 2005) without acknowledging that they also benefit from dodgy decisions. The whole point of this thread is to explore whether these decisions really do even themselves out over a season. So far, the evidence that they do is looking good.

There an interesting point made in the paper the other day which said that while Mourinho complains about the "goal" that wasn't awarded on Saturday, he forgets that he benefitted from a similar decision as Porto manager when they faced Man U in the Champions League. Had it not been for that goal being disallowed (don't remember it myself) he may not have gone on to win the Champions League and be the Chelsea manager now!

Didn't seen anything from yesterdays games...
Were Chelsea really that hard done too?
Think Boro and Sunderland could both have got a penalty on sunday but it still has no bearing...

The Guardian summed it up pretty well. They said that Man U deserved a penalty and Chelsea deserved to have a player sent off. It was just the wrong penalty and the wrong player sent off.

Maybe the big four do get decisions... Freddie Ljunberg and Marcus Bent both had goals incorrectly ruled offside...
Gained:
Arsenal - 2 points Liverpool - 2 points Blackburn - 1 point Middlesbrough - 2 points Sunderland - 1 point
Lost:
Aston Villa - 1 point Birmingham - 2 points Fulham - 1 point Chelsea - 1 point Wigan - 1 point West Ham - 1 point

The whistle had gone and Reina made no attempt to stop it.

I did think that, but it was a good finish and he did move, though didn't actually go for it...

Ahhh, how much do Liverpool pay refs? Blatent word by Gerrard gets Hibbert sent off, Kuyt should've gone for his lunge and Everton denied a clear penalty at the end. I think a draw would be fair result and a likely result had the ref been decent.
Gained:
Arsenal - 2 points Liverpool - 4 points Blackburn - 1 point Middlesbrough - 2 points Sunderland - 1 point
Lost:
Aston Villa - 1 point Birmingham - 2 points Fulham - 1 point Chelsea - 1 point Wigan - 1 point West Ham - 1 point Everton - 1 point

Yeah, shocking performance really, but the ref should have realised it was a straight red for hibbert anyway. Saying that, I think he was about to slide Gerrard, until gerrard splayed his legs and gfell over Everton goalie looked like a straight red as well, but there were 2 defenders around, and yes it was a penalty at the end.

Agree with those points made. Its a shame for Clattenberg really, he's probably been the best ref this season imo, even more so in the big games.

apparently he is on a 'planned' holiday this week That is actually true. Poll on 5 Lives "Monday Night Club" confirmed he's refereeing a UEFA Cup match tonight which rules him out of refereeing any Saturday games, and then he's going on holiday on Sunday. I wouldn't even question it as Poll sounded annoyed that the question had even been raised!
