What were their complaints?
everything from they mentioned the word "slug"
to celebrating when the last snowboarder fell, but that was because it meant we won a bronze for the first time in our history on snow
there were also loads of complaints that the commentary was of a low standard
but having watched other extreme events (like bmx) in the Olympics and x games etc, the commentating was bog standard for them events, they have personality and passion for their sport and show it.
and my favourite complaint was because one of the commentators tried to describe how hard riding back to front is by saying
"riding switch [back-to-front] is like writing left-handed while wearing a chip hat and being attacked by seagulls".
COMPLAIN!

You'd have thought the sort of people wanting to watch snowboarding, would enjoy the commentary, yes it was loud and raucous, and only one of them slightly cheered when the other competitor fell, is it British not to do that, when you know other nations would? If you dont like the commentary, turn down the sound, dont complain!

If you dont like the commentary, turn down the sound, dont complain! Now up to 13,700 complaints and rising. Which is what you get when the Daily Mail jumps on the bandwagon. Another legacy of the BBC not standing up to this vile excuse of a newspaper in the immediate aftermath of the Sachsgate scandal when only two people complained about Brand & Ross's near the knuckle behaviour on a late night Radio 2 show before the Daily Mail intervened in its moral crusade 8 days later. Still I guess the DM probably wished the commentary was much like some of the appalling commentary at the 2012 Olympics and the Woman's Football, where you could hear the sheer disdain, sexism, and boredom at the relatively poor standard of skill compared to the men's game from ex-male pros & commentators used to having orgasms at overpaid prim-ma donna Premiership players.

Wins for both GB curling teams today but in very different circumstances.
The men beat Germany by 1 after the German skip bottled a simple take out with the final stone of the match.
By contrast, the women delivered a crushing 12-3 victory over the USA, helped by a record-equalling 7 shots in one end. The margin of victory could've been even greater but the US called it quits with 4 ends still to play.

If you dont like the commentary, turn down the sound, dont complain! Exactly my thoughts! After all, it's not often we get success in the Winter Olympics and especially on snow. Very easy to get excited in the heat of the moment but it adds to the "drama" for sure. That "drama" inspires youngsters to get into the sport so all for it really. Armchair experts (i.e. DM readers) can kindly do one and get a hobby.

Haha ed Leigh gets excited over anything. Its who he is. Aimee fuller was the special guest who failed to qualify for the final and basically if she can't cheer on jenny jones no one can. It was slightly ott and cringy but it was raw emotion and lets face it snowboarders aren't the type to have a stiff upper lip.

Ed Leigh's "other" career highlight
Still fun to watch after 8 years since it happened!

This could be the last quiet day from a British perspective for a little while, with no medal contenders, though it'll be interesting to see how Chemmy Alcott goes in the women's downhill.
The curling continues with GB's women facing the unbeaten Canadians and the men taking on Switzerland.
Things start picking up from a British perspective on Thursday...

Loving the curling - the 7 score by GB yesterday was amazing - what were the US doing?

Disappointing defeat for the women curlers against Canada. It went right down to the final stone with GB trailing by 2. Eve Muirhead had a simple shot to tie the game and send it to an extra end, but instead went for a risky double take-out to try and win it but couldn't pull it off and GB lose 9-6.

Will Shaun White retire now? I remember seeing him on Cribs on MTV when he was about 15 and my immediate thought was "f*** off." I haven't changed my mind since then.
