For the past few weeks I have been scouring the internet for any list of Madonna songs I can find – from sales lists to popularity polls to individual favourites. I have been through every site, blog and forum I can find (including Haven of course) and, about 230 lists later, and using my own scoring system, I have come up with a list of what I believe are the internet’s favourite Madonna songs. It started out as a bit of fun, but it got so big that I decided to post it on here – and I have to stress that it in no way takes away from the results of the Haven popularity contest which was run on here… and if I repeat the exercise with a different artist then I will probably use somebody who hasn’t already been used on there. Although a lot of the lists were just singles rates, I did find a few album track charts to balance it out a little bit, so there may be a few surprises along the way.

OK so I've decided to post all the results as there were one or two singles which missed the top 100. I'm going to start therefore by posting the total track scores for each of the albums - in reverse order... and I'm including soundtracks too. So here they are, with the songs which scored zero points listed below: 16. EVITA (ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK ALBUM) (1996) (346 points)
0 points: Oh What A Circus Eva And Magaldi/Eva Beware Of The City Buenos Aires Goodnight And Thank You Charity Concert/The Art Of The Possible Hello And Goodbye Peron's Latest Flame A New Argentina On The Balcony Of The Casa Rosada (Part 2) High Flying Adored Rainbow High Rainbow Tour The Actress Hasn't Learned The Lines Partido Feminista Waltz For Eva And Che Your Little Body's Slowly Breaking Down Eva's Final Broadcast
There may be 22 songs on this album where Madonna gets a credit, but that doesn't stop it being her lowest placed album when you add up the totals of the songs which did receive points (and there are only five of them).

15. WHO'S THAT GIRL (ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK ALBUM) (1987) (744 points)
0 points: Can't Stop
It's no surprise to see this near the bottom of the pile when you consider there are only actually 4 Madonna tracks on it - despite it being credited to her. Actually it's done well to beat Evita, which has 22 tracks of hers!

14. MDNA (2012) (749 points)
0 points: Superstar B-Day song Best Friend
There are 16 tracks on the deluxe version, and although 13 of them received points it only scored 5 more points in total than Who's That Girl.

13. REBEL HEART (2015) (945 points)
0 points: Heartbreak City Body Shop Veni Vidi Vici S.E.X. Auto-Tune Baby Borrowed Time Addicted Graffiti Heart
A massive 24 tracks in total on the super deluxe edition of Madonna's most recent album release, with two thirds of them receiving some points... but not enough to get anywhere near the top ten.

12. HARD CANDY (2008) (1502 points)
0 points: Dance 2night Spanish Lesson Ring My Bell
There's a massive increase in points for this - and with a modest 13 tracks too, but it still means that her 3 most recent albums are her least popular in this poll of polls.

I'll reveal one more tonight, before the top ten.

11. AMERICAN LIFE (2003) (2034 points)
Amazingly none of the 11 tracks on this album failed to score any points, and it means that the top ten are all healthy scorers.

10. I'M BREATHLESS (1990) (2165 points)
0 points: He's A Man I'm Going Bananas Cry Baby What Can You Lose
Usually classed as a soundtrack album, despite very few of the tracks actually being used in the film Dick Tracy. I think it's underrated as, even though 7 of the tracks off it did receive points, it's largely down to one track in particular why it ended up so high.

9. BEDTIME STORIES (1994) (2792 points)
0 points: I'd Rather Be Your Lover
10 out of the 11 tracks on her mid-nineties album Bedtime Stories received points, with just I'd Rather Be Your Lover missing out on anything.

8. EROTICA (1992) (1314 points)
There are 14 tracks on the standard CD version of Madonna's most sexual album, released in 1992 - a year after the controversial docu-film 'In Bed With Madonna', and each of them picked up some points.

7. MUSIC (2000) (3227 points)
0 points: Cyber-Raga (Japanese & Australian Versions only)
So, technically every track on the standard edition of Madonna's 2000 album, Music, received some points. In the UK we got Cyber-Raga as the B-side to the lead single, which was also the title track.

6. CONFESSIONS ON A DANCEFLOOR (2005) (3840 points)
0 points: Super Pop (ICON Members Bonus Track)
Madonna's 2005 comeback electronica-disco album, which many people saw as a return to form. If you don't want to be particular then every track receieved points (how many people even know Super Pop anyway?), and every track from every album in the top 5 managed to pick up some points!

5. MADONNA/THE FIRST ALBUM (1983) (4178 points)
The album that started it all for Madge, this scored an incredible amount of points considering there are only 8 tracks on it.

4. LIKE A VIRGIN (1984) (5275 points)
The Queen of Pop's second album. This included 10 tracks if you include Into The Groove (which I do). Proving that her early material is still popular with the public.

3. RAY OF LIGHT (1998) (5357 points)
One of Maddie's most successful re-inventions of herself was this critically acclaimed 1998 album, and it's no surprise to see it so high up here.

2. TRUE BLUE (1986) (5725 points)
True Blue was her most successful singles album in the UK, featuring 3 #1's, a #2 and a #4. The continued popularity of these singles helped to secure a #2 placing for this classic album.

1. LIKE A PRAYER (1989) (5806 points)
No great surprises here then.. Like A Prayer is Madonna's classic album, with not a duff track in sight. But will one of them be the #1 song? Or will it be a track from a different album?
