69. NOTHING FAILS (170 points)
Definitely one of the stand out tracks from American Life, this was a single in the U.S. but in the U.K. it was a double A-side with Love Profusion, which was the one that got all the airplay and promotion.

68. FORBIDDEN LOVE (176 points)
The second song Madonna recorded with the title 'Forbidden Love', this one was taken from Confessions On A Dancefloor and is one of her most popular album tracks ever - there are just a handful left and then it's singles all the way!

67. IMPRESSIVE INSTANT (183 points)
Possibly Maddie's most trancey club-friendly track. This stomper from 'Music' was intended to be a single but it got cancelled - shamefully, as I think it could have been another massive hit for her.

66. SKY FITS HEAVEN (188 points)
Another song crying out to be a single, this time from 'Ray Of Light'. Like many of the tracks from that album you can just get totally lost in it.

65. MILES AWAY (202 points)
Released as the third single from 'Hard Candy' in 2008, Miles Away became Maddie's lowest charting single in the U.K. since 1983 when it reached the lowly heights of #39. However, the chart position doesn't reflect the quality of this electro ballad and it was also deemed good enough to gain a place on her Celebration greatest hits album the following year, even over some of her number one hits!

I'm really enjoying this thread. Always interesting to see what a reflective public thinks about an artist's back catalogue, long after all the hype has died down.
Thanks very much for putting in the effort to compile this.

64. RESCUE ME (207 points)
This is actually one of my favourites, even though it seems to be one of her largely forgotten singles now. One of 2 new tracks placed at the end of The Immaculate Collection in 1990, it reached #3 in the singles chart in 1991 despite the album already spending an age at the top of the chart. It was also covered by Adeva, whose version is also worth a listen!

Thanks very much for putting in the effort to compile this. Thank you. That's ok, I've really enjoyed doing it actually and it's reminded me how great some of the tracks were that I hadn't heard in a while.

63. TILL DEATH DO US PART (208 points)
A truly brilliant song from 'Like A prayer', and it's a happy one - until you listen to the lyrics that is! Supposedly written about her violent relationship with Sean Penn, which I don't know enough about to pass judgement but it is a heart-wrenching song all the same... 'Till Death Do Us Part' may just be an album track, but it's the second highest on this countdown - and I wonder if you've managed to work out what the highest is!?

62. LIVING FOR LOVE (213 points)
The Queen of Pop's last single to reach the Top 40 in the U.K. was this lead single from 'Rebel Heart' in 2015. It was generally regarded as a welcome return to form, although the critics had a field day after that 'tripping' performance at the Brit Awards - with some even suggesting that she deliberately took a whack to the head for the publicity.

61. PARADISE (NOT FOR ME) (219 points)
And so, here it is, Madonna's most popular album track (according to what I could find on the internet anyway), and it's a blinder. There really were some gems tucked away on that 'Music' album and this was certainly one of them.

60. AMERICAN PIE (223 points)
Madonna's cover of the Don McLean classic from 1971 divided opinion, although it did reach #1 in the year 2000 - which was one place higher than the original. It was later stuck on the end of the 'Music' album, signalling "The day the music died". 'American Pie' is the lowest placed of Maddie's 13 U.K. #1 singles on here.

59. GIRL GONE WILD (237 points)
It may have stalled at #73 in the charts, but 'Girl Gone Wild' is the most popular track in this countdown from the MDNA album. It's 'Girls Just Want To Have Fun' for the modern club scene, and would surely have been a #1 hit if she'd released it a few years earlier.

58. CAUSING A COMMOTION (237 points)
A 1987 #4 hit for Madonna, from the soundtrack to 'Who's That Girl' and another hit that has probably slipped the casual fan's mind due to its lack of inclusion on 'The Immaculate Collection' or 'Celebration' best ofs.

57. DON'T CRY FOR ME ARGENTINA (249 points)
Madonna proved to the critics that she really could sing on this version of the Julie Covington classic from 1976. It doesn't make the top 50 here, but it was her first top 3 single in over four years, after years of many people writing her off as finished, when it made #3 around Christmas time of 1996.

Oh, and the Miami Mix of 'Argentina' is well worth a listen too. It won't appear here as I made the decision to amalgamate any remixes with the original track (although there weren't that many anyway).

56. DEAR JESSIE (250 points)
Many people write this track off as too childish, but I've always had a soft spot for it. It was the fourth single to be taken from 'Like A Prayer' and made the #5 spot in time for Christmas of 1989. Sadly she obviously didn't feel it worthy of inlcusion on her Greatest Hits albums so the only place to find it is on 'Like A Prayer'... but if you don't own that then you really need a word!

This is quite a masterwork, so thanks for doing this. I totally missed the voting but "Nothing Fails" is definitely one of my favourite songs of hers. I still get goosebumps when that choir kicks in towards the end.

55. LOVE PROFUSION (271 points)
The four singles from 'American Life' have all done better than I had expected and this, the fourth and final one to be released in the U.K., is the first one to show up here. It sadly missed the top ten, stalling at #11, but it has gained a lot of respect among fans.

54. ANGEL (277 points)
Despite being a massive top 5 hit in 1985, when she really was riding the crest of a wave with her Like A Virgin album (from which this heavenly tune was taken), Angel failed to make the cut on 'The Immaculate Collection' and then again on 'Celebration' annd I do think it could have gained more of a following if it had been. Saying that, it still managed to pick up a respectable amount of points and sits not far from the Top 50.
