Hopefully I will actually qualify as a 'local resident' FINALLY seeing as it's not too far from me!

I've had the misfortune of seeing this idiot live TWICE - Once supporting Plan B and the other Just Jack. Awful both times. And this 'change of direction' makes me think he's even more of a tw*t than I did before.

It's going to be massive - but I FAR prefer "Yours" and "Alone" which have both been foolishly ignored.

I'm not the word's biggest Sarah Whatmore fan - but she did co-write this one, and the genre isn't exactly a million miles away from Taylor Swift, really. Both in the same acoustic pop vein.

I hate it.... it doesnt jump out to me at all its just like all the other crap out there I'm assuming that the Taylow Swift signature is therefore ironic?

One of the worst songs I have EVER heard. It's full of typical James Bourne lyrical gems: "Don't send an email, I just wanna touch your face" and I hate the Busted-esque fake American accent. Truly abysmal.

Doing an Elbow this year? Their last album made #1 anyway, didn't it?
Anyway - Doves have always been one of those bands where I like their songs when I hear them, and then just forget about them again. Liking the new single, though.

I really like this actually. Definitley in the same vein as Scouting For Girls, The Feeling, One Night Only etc. so definitley has universal appeal. Shame that it's being overlooked, really.

The whole Sarah Whatmore project was so badly handled really. Fair play to her for still trying, but how is she earning any money? This song's nice, but a bit of a non-event really.

Oh, I love this record. Nice review! What are your thoughts on "Hold On Now, Youngster!" Most people seem to prefer "WAB,WAD" but the debut holds a special place for me.

I've got my fingers crossed for Blur - would love to see them. They will go down so well at the festivals with the right setlists. Blur classics are still firm favourites at indie clubs.

I think "No You Girls" has been confirmed as the second single.

Blur confirmed for Oxegen and T in The Park now. Strong rumours for Glasto and V as well...

I do quite like this song. Have enjoyed all 4 singles to be honest. The album's a little dull, but nowhere near as bad as some of the reviews suggest.

I was really surprised that it ended up at #18 really...thought that it would have secured an easy top ten.
Anyway - really pleased with the album. It was always going to be difficult following up "I Am A Bird Now" and not sounding gimmicky. He tackles a wider range of topics on "The Crying Light" and each track is beautiful. "Everglade" is easily the highlight for me...what a finish.

That is pretty dire. Snow Patrol are just not a 'headline' act, in my opinion. Always should be 2nd down the list, I feel. Kings of Leon are in danger of overexposure....they've been all over the festivals for the last few years. That said - they have picked up a lot of new fans that still haven't seen them live, so should go down well as a headline act.
Katy Perry? I think she's worthy of playing - but not headlining the Radio 1 stage...a bit lower down the list, I think! In that spot - I imagine hardly anyone will show up, which will be embarassing.

Oh did "Paris" fail to chart second time around? I thought I saw it in the iTunes chart a few times, so assumed it made the top 100.
Anyway - love the entire album; looking forward to seeing them on the NME tour in a couple of weeks. Love this track - but surely "Lovesick" has to be a single.
