RATM well didn't see this one coming. It's a brave choice for no1. I'd rather see Suede ther to be honest.

Number of very strong entries last two weeks.
And a bona fide no1 - can't imagine it could be otherwise. Ordinary World is highlighting early 90s. It's a fantastic return to form.

Gabriel and FNM worthy new entries. I completely forgot about The The and only re-discovered in this or Gezza's thread.
I would prefer a different no1 though as I wasn't much into Nirvana's noisy side except for Smells Like...

Ooh... Madonna's "Deeeper and Deeper"... one of the greatest return to form ever. Very enjoyable disco retro but there's so much urgency and sadness in it. Indeed a point of contemplation. I liked here detachment from easy pop of 80s and she couldn't do wrong for me.

Now I realize "We Close Our Eyes" is something I have know but couldn't tell who was the artist. Good to know it's been Go West. Need to perhaps investigate more into their music. It's the sound I like, reminds me of 80s pop scene in the US.

Forgot all about Go West - never heard of them before or after - but this one is outstanding how it flows.

Well Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses is a monster opus. Unbelievable track with huge lyrics and construction of the song is just marvellous. I know by this time most people have Achtung Baby already and won¨t really bother byuing this unless collectors but anyway...
Don't care about Pulp's one, would rather see Sprockets taking it.
Saigon would be my second choice of the week.

Well deserved no1. I really liked this Bon Jovi era. Maybe even more than their 80's output.

Wel you couldn't escape La La Long song could you back then. It was all over the place. I have to say it got overplayed and couldn't stand it but still see it deserved impact. But Toads do it for mi this week. Lovely song.
Have to mention Cure and Metallica newies - both parent albums are among greatest for me in the whole of 90s.

House of Pain Jump well that's something for a teenage vetroplach back in the day. Still like it today.
Also, very fond of Dreams. It was quite different from the rest of the pack those days.

Much better this week. Some great stuff arriving - Pearl Jam, Crowded House, Black Crowes and Stereo MCs all good records. And Lennox got the number one.

Thought Annie would take it this week. It's such a good song.
Out of new entries - love Gabriel's one and of course Lion Zion of Marley's.
Surprisingly, MASH theme didn't touch me a lot.
The rest I don't even recognize at first sight.

Newies this week rather below par. Nothing really catching my ears. I can give credit to B52, Sinead and Maniacs but it's all somehow forgettable to me.

Richard Marx doing it for me this week. A great song out of his latest album. Couldn't get it out of my head.

Lots of great songs in the charts. Really hard to have a preference. If I had my personal charts for this year it would most likely be a weekly turnover of no1s to satisfy my favorites.
But I'm keeping a close eye on couple like Toad the Wet Sprocket or Saigon. Toads are climbing slowly wonder where that will end up.

So much deserved for Cure. There's hardly anything better - a crystal clear definition of pop. Otherwise, I would go for George Michael and Elton as some highly memorable radio friendly songs. Much admire Elton in this set of tone. I prefer this to "Sacrifice" have to say, but slightly only.

UKJ are great with this track. It can become irritating after while but I think it is build up astnishingly well. Almost like a guide to "How to do a rock song" sort of thing. It is agressive and energized, kids were going crazy when this got played during a "rock part" of dance nights out.

Loved this era of Del Amitri. Last to Know is great. There's couple of more greats - Gary Moore for sure. And I have to say I like Lionel although not quite into him in his 80's heyday.
