"So Here We Are" was played in the first double-elimination round and was their 2nd highest peaking single, peaking at #5. It didn't get them into a sing-off. You'll get to find out exactly where they finished in each round when I reveal it at the end of the contest.

Bloc Party's expected position based on the pre-predict was 12th. Their actual position of 10th was guessed by nobody but a few were one-out. greendemon and Roo. correctly identified the mentor.

Bloc Party are an English indie rock band, with members Kele Okereke on vocals and Russell Lissack on guitar as ever-present, and a mix of other members. Their most successful period was the late 2000s with 3 top 10 albums , in particular "Silent Alarm" and "A Weekend In The City", and 4 top 10 hits during that period with "The Prayer" the biggest peaking at #4. In the last round they were in a sing-off with Showaddywaddy and whilst there appears to be little in common with them, they are both British mixed-colour groups. Hupin was their mentor. The next round song would have been their top 10 hit "Flux" I wasn't given a replacement sing-off song and he won't need one now anyway. Their biggest hit was "The Prayer" so maybe he'd have used that:

A shame for Barnet, 2nd in the league by a long distance then somehow got thrashed at home in a play-off.
I actually think they should change it to 3 up 3 down with 2 up automatically and not have rules that barred Gateshead from competing in the play-offs - I remember when they did something like that in the 1990s I think it was a few times.

1962 was for me the weakest year of pop ever, but did have some good songs. I don't see "Crying In The Rain" on your list even though the Everly Brothers do regularly appear up to 1960. "Walk Right Back" also fails to appear.
Apart from "Apache" and "Nut Rocker" you've mostly snubbed instrumentals. Not even room for "Green Onions" or "Telstar".
Bobby Rydell had two big NM #1s with "Wild One" in 1960 and "Forget Him" in 1963, the latter of which was written by Tony Hatch.
My charts go back to December 1955 and 1956 was thus the first complete year. My final chart was 1 September 2018.

I have all the next round songs, which will be posted just after 5pm today, and the round will also have an 8 day voting period, which we probably don't need, but will get us back to Monday night result shows.
There will be 9 songs and you'll probably know most of them as it being a double-elimination round, the mentors have generally gone for popular songs by their artists.

Regarding the Joseph megamix, they actually did something like that at the end of the show when the cast were doing their bows. When you think about it, it makes sense in that context. Not sure it was worth releasing as a single though.

It will be up to the host of the next contest (most likely the winner of this one) whether they wish to have an album-track round or not.
The voting for this round was quite interesting, with every song getting at least one top score, and for an artist who had a long career, there is always a question which album they should pick the song from.
If you're actually quite a big fan of the artist you are mentoring, it is likely you own a number of their albums and potentially have a few favourite album tracks, as well as knowing which are the fan-favourites (or which the artist regularly plays when you see them live - if they are still alive, that is).

The final will be round 11 so the two "long" rounds are right in the middle.

In the final reveal not only will you know how each song scored, but I will reveal the voting pattern for one of the songs in the round.
I may also add what I thought of the songs.

These are the sing-off entries.
Please send in your round 6 songs, which will be double-elimination (and a replacement sing-off song if needed or you just wish to change it).
There is slightly longer to vote as it closes on Sunday but at the earlier time of 5pm to give me enough time to post up the next round before the later part of my festival starts.

Ok, the moment of climax.
Sailing through (or maybe scraping through)
Rod Stewart
But what's going on?
Marvin Gaye
is in the sing-off.
I will post up the sing-off.
Next round is double-elimination and nearly half the remaining acts will be in the sing-off.
