People probably realised the the chorus of every one of their songs consists of the same line repeated 4 times, so they got sent back to try and write something slightly more intelligent.

KT looks like she's running away with this one, at first glance.

It's interesting you say that 'the UK music scene is very healthy at the moment with loads of great artists' when in actual fact sales are poor and have been for several years. Whether you like it or not, 'manufactured' pop is an essential part of any successful music scene.
How the winner of X factor fares in the charts depends entirely on whether you get fifty thousand bored housewives voting for a steve-a-like again, or whether people actually vote for the better artists.

I agree that it's catchy. However, it is also pants. And not your nice fancy pants, or even average pants. It's the kind of pants that you have right at the bottom of your drawer, reserved for emergencies when you have absolutely nothing else to wear because you haven't done any laundry all week.

- God does anyone remember this? {1}-6-16-34-48-57-65-73-65R(4)-55->10 It really should have peaked first week at #2 then slid one place a week until #8 shouldn't it?!!! ;D I actually bought this one - thinking it was the version that was around in the clubs at the time. I was naturally disappointed but got the Bob Sinclar / Thomas Bangalter version of it in the end. And then back to 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and back again.... ;D

I probably shouldn't admit to it, but I prefer the Michael Bolton version

I grew up with my parents and older brother playing heavy metal, so I didn't get in to music at an early age. It was only when I reached my teens and realised there were other types of music that I started getting in to it. The first casette I bought was Dina Carroll's Dont Be A Stranger, I would have been about 12 at the time.

Mariah Carey and Luther Vandross - Endless Love - much better than the original in my opinion.
And lets not forget the best selling duets of all time: Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta - Summer Nights/You're the One That I Want

Personally, i think Kurt Kobain is completely overrated. As are 2pac and Aaliyah. All 3 had their moments, granted, but are hardly geniuses.
Freddie Murcury is one of the greatest performers that ever lived, and I doubt anyone could compare to him, not for a long time at least.
