What's really interesting is that we're well into the top 10 and films are still only getting points from a very small number of voters.

But why is the island magical and why does it need protecting? Why couldn't the black smoke thing leave the island without killing everyone? What was the glowing light? Why did someone going into the glowing light cause a big black death cloud to appear? And why did it sound like a mechanical security system? What was the point of the numbers, that were repeated over several story themes but didn't seem to have any real purpose? Why were some illnesses cured by the island, while others were not? What caused every pregnant woman to miscarry, or rather, why did 'the event' cause it? Why could the island time travel? Who exactly were the Others and why were they on the island in the first place? Why was Jim from Neighbours so intent on getting back to the island, and then when he did, why didn't he actually do anything? Why, when returning to the island, did some of the travellers get 'zapped' back in time, while others stayed on the plane until it landed on the neighbouring island? Who built the big statue? Where did the Dharma Initiative food drop come from when the Dharma Initiative had been wiped out many years prior by the Others?

We recently watched the whole box set, as first time round we both got bored part way through season 2.
I have to say, the whole ending was so entirely disappointing, we ended up googling "what was the point of Lost" after watching the final episode, because it didn't really make sense. Or rather, it did make sense, if by sense you mean "a really lame ending that doesn't explain or solve any of the mysteries encountered over the entire 6 series".
Like Jade, we like complex plot layered on plot type programmes, where you figure out with the cast what's going on. Lost just didn't do it. It was like they thought "lets put this random thing in to get everybody wondering and talking about it" but then then promptly forgot what they out in and moved on to something else and hoped nobody would notice.

I want to see Jamie Laing do biscuit week. See if he actually knows anything about making biscuits.

I'm not sure I can see 7 medals, but it'll be very interesting to see how much effect he home crowd has on the athletes. Let's see what happens

Given that "I wanna Dance..." reached number one in May 1987, wouldn't this be the answer to your question? Or are you asking a different question that I'm not reading properly?

Max Whitlock should win, in my opinion. First EVER Olympic gold medal winner for Team GB in the men's gymnastics this Summer. That's something that none of the other competitors can claim. Also considered the most successful gymnast in GB history; again, few people on the list can say the same thing. Certainly not the current favourite. Interestingly in a poll comprised of a panel of experts, their sports correspondents and their readers conducted by The Daily Telegraph Andy Murray has been voted the #1 UK Sportsperson of all time. Which, of course, is entirely ridiculous.

I personally think there's something rather tacky about this. What an elected MP who was campaigning for Remain, who supported the work of the Syrian Civil Defense, a civilian organisation known as the White Helmets who have since been bombed to destruction by the Russians because they were the moderate democratic third faction in Syria between ISIS and Putin's aided President Assad's appalling Government; the anti fascist movement Hope not Hate; and racial tolerance being assassinated by a far right wing Britain First neo-Nazi nutcase who had been campaigning for Brexit. And they're summing all that up by recording "You Can't Always Get What You Want". Rubcale is right; it's incredibly tacky.

Brilliant achievement. He has got to world #1 as a result of hard work, sheer bloodymindedness, and genuine skill. Although Nadal and Federer have faded, Djokovic is still a force, so no one can claim that he became the world's best by default. 2016 will probably be Andy's best year - winning Wimbledon, the Olympics and the World Tour Final, and getting to #1. But 2012 or 2013 will be the years everyone remembers, because of the emotion of the home Olympics on the back of reaching the Wimbledon Final for the first time, or that incredible first Wimbledon title. To be fair, Djokovic is suffering from poor form currently - he's not won a title since July. I'm certainly not saying Murray became no1 by 'default', but he's certainly been helped by the fact his 4 major competitors for the position are all suffering - some more than others.

It was the right decision. I'm glad.
I started to get irate at the TV during the marking of the meringue crown challenge though, as once again, Jane was praised for her crown being nice and solid and structurally secure, when the bottom layer was clearly cracking all the way round.

Oh just stick them in a marquee somewhere and call it something else! I guess the world will end with the final tonight? Predictions for winners? Candice, the ginger, or the old(ish) woman? I think it'll probably be Jane. In my opinion she seems to have been over-marked the entire way through, going all the way back to week one where Selasi seemed dead cert for star baker but for some reason Jane was awarded it. Candice will probably try to do something absolutely amazing, and it'll end up an underbaked mess, while Andrew's been hit and miss the entire way through, really, and it's only because Benjamina and Selasi had poor weeks for the last fortnight that he's made it this far.

The trouble is there will be children involved. As a result, honest critique will be few and far between because you can't possibly tell a child that their pile of slop isn't very nice. It will become very "well done for the effort, have a gold star" rather than "Your pastry is too thick, it's undercooked, and all your filling has fallen out".
It's exactly the reason I hate there being children on things like Britain's Got Talent.

Rio Ferdinand is confirmed, along with Last Leg comedian Josh Widdicombe. They'll be competing against Paralympic champion, Jonnie Peacock, radio presenter Sara Cox and former Corrie actor, Michelle Keegan. Competing against? Surely that should be *with*, or have they fundamentally changed the format of the show?

I understand bringing Nicole back, she was a decent judge in my opinion. Sharon was good enough in the early series, but became car-crash later on, and I have a feeling she'll be bringing car-crash Sharon back, unfortunately.
