It's been quite a poor month for releases, actually. And I'm quite surprised at how many ?'s people are putting down!

That was supposed to be their final single - a ballad to say goodbye on. So you won't find anything else after that. It would be nice to know what they're up to now though. Probably employed as dancers or dj's in one club or another.

Yeah - definately an each to their own here. What I can't stand about the Mariah, Celine, Whitney, etc is their voice. Not to mention they only have a good voice and rarely write anything themselves (if at all). Are there any groups you like that make their own songs? Mariah has written everything (apart from the few covers of course) she's ever done - the lyrics are entirely her own work, while the music is a joint effort. The Corrs, Alisha's Attic, Del Amitri, Ace of Base and The Cranberries are all bands I like, and would consider to be 'good' music, and they write their own stuff.

In my opinion, what makes a song good, is the vocal performance. I like Mariah, Celine, Whitney and all the rest because vocally, they are superb. I'm not a great fan of a lot of indie/rock-pop bands because, although they may be talented players and have good lyrics, in general, the vocals are naff. Yes, it's the style of music to sing off-key, and if you like that, then no disrespect to you. There are exceptions - for example the man in Rasmus can sing, I like them. Chris Martin on the other hand sings every note flat - I don't like Coldplay.
In general, I wouldn't consider a lot of cheese and dance music to be 'good' - however, I do think it's enjoyable, and have plenty of it in my collection.

Sounds like you all have great music collections! ;D I'm not sure about 'great'.... I think I get negative scores for having both Sean Maguire albums

About 1000 CD Albums, and 200ish CD singles.
And about 1000 Cassette singles, and 500 or so albums.
Don't buy many any more though. Most of my stuff is late 90's.

I just dislike most of the stuff The Beatles have done, I really don't see what's so great about them. Sorry The first few rounds, I voted by who I thought most deserved the title of 'the best' - but then it became apparent that everyone was just voting for the ones they liked best, so I started doing the same. Technically, we should still have Cliff Richard in here, though he got voted out in one of the first rounds. I agree that the voting has been odd....but if you can't beat 'em...
