Hoping for a Sundrrland and York wins today in the respective play offs
And both won 2-0. That would have made for a good double bet.
I took Sunderland to win 1-0 but only had a Β£2 bet on them.

Glad both teams have moved back up a league as they deserve to be higher up the pyramid.

I hope Sunderland win. Why is the League One playoff final on today? The other two playoff finals are on their traditional Bank Holiday weekend. It might be because it's not a bank holiday weekend this year. The Spring Bank Holiday has been moved back to the first Thursday in June to go next to the extra one created for the Jubilee.

I forgot about the late May Bank Holiday being moved back to the first Thursday in June. So that would mean there was no way of playing a game at Wembley on the Monday.

With no proper spring bank holiday I'm not sure when I'm supposed to drink my Springbank malt.
A shame Rotherham and Sunderland have both gone up as we usually do well against them. We got a win away and a draw at home against both this season.
What is it about Brentford at home against teams fighting relegation that they lose the game 2-1 at home conceding a late goal?

Solihull Moors v Grimsby Town in the National League playoff final. If Solihull win, they will become the 137th (depending on various interpretations) club to play in the Football League.

Channel 4 has announced its presentation lineup for its England coverage.
BT's Jules Breach will be main presenter, with Steve Bower the main commentator. Graeme Le Saux and Rob Green will be among the pundits, with Add Adepitan and Kelly Somers reporting.

England 0 Hungary 4
Another dreadful performance in what has been pretty much a dreadful set of performances by England in the Nations League.
The team has never got going. Some of the players look like they just want to get away on their holidays. The new season is just weeks away. We could of course have had a World Cup about to start but this set of games has been a waste of time, at least as far as England and the other UK nations teams have been concerned.

It's just as well there isn't a world cup now or England would be performing terribly. We need to at least avoid bottom place to not get relegated into the 2nd zone for next year.
How is next season going to work around the World Cup being in the middle of it?

Oh No! Not the dreaded 2nd zone, who gives a monkeys. And there shouldn't be ranking points associated with this. We were basically playing squad players in some of these games to see if those players are good enough for the world cup squad? Players wont have holidays this season as I'm sure they've all got foreign pre season fixtures to fulfill as well, you know man united v Villa and suchlike.

How is next season going to work around the World Cup being in the middle of it? Premier League stops a week before the World Cup and resumes on Boxing Day. It will finish a bit later than usual.

Meanwhile normal football all carries on and may suffer from lower attendances But no-one high up cares about that!

I actually have found it's an issue that most of the midweeks there is a full EFL league program is also when there is Champions League football, which is obviously going to distract fans away.
It's nice to go to a game, but would you rather journey to a game and pay Β£27.50 a ticket to watch Charlton Athletic playing Peterboro when you can sit at home and watch Liverpool play Athletico Madrid.
There is a lot wrong with the way football is run, but what concerns me the most is the way clubs have to rely on rich owners to fund them in order to survive or be competitive, leading to situations as has happened to Bury and now to Derby County.

Thankfully none of England's group games fall on a Saturday but there maybe issues if they reach the knockout stages. I would hope individual leagues allow some flexibility in terms of dates/kickoff times.
