With that squad, without Dyche, without a manager in charge or lined up yet, with 8 games to go, boy, id say unlikely, they might have just ruined any slim chance they had

Chris Wilder is favourite for the Burnley job, which makes no sense whatsoever. Second favourite is Wayne Rooney, which makes far more sense, given Derby's predicament, followed by Sam Allardyce.

I think Rooney would be wise to wait for a more settled position, and yeah why would Wilder leave Middlesbrough? Burnley have two potential winnable games against Southampton and Wolves I think? Very harsh to not let Dyche be there to try and keep them up, especially after everything he has done for that club!

and yeah why would Wilder leave Middlesbrough? Exactly. If he wanted to be managing in the Premier League this season, he wouldn't have taken the Boro job. It's likely Boro already had Wilder lined up to replace Neil Warnock at the end of this season but made the change early when some Premier League clubs started sacking managers and possibly started showing an interest.

Another win for Newcastle tonight (1-0 v Crystal Palace) means we should be safe now as we have 40 points and are 15 points clear of the relegation zone.
Next up we are away to Norwich who have to win to avoid being relegated as soon as the following week.

Meanwhile, the Wilder-Burnley-Boro saga rumbles on, with Wilder doing little to diffuse the speculation. Turns out he is quite pally with the Burnley chairman. From a pure football perspective, it would still make no sense jumping but some managers are a bit weird. I guess we'll see soon what type of person he is...

Channel 4 will show England's men's team matches for the next two years after a deal was announced by the FA. The agreement includes this year's Nations League matches, plus the qualifiers for Euro 2024.
Earlier this week, the Scottish FA announced a deal with Nordic broadcaster Viaplay, starting in 2024.

Still sure 32 points are safe for staying up in the Prem? Everton win a couple of games and Leeds could be going down with 34+?

Still sure 32 points are safe for staying up in the Prem? Everton win a couple of games and Leeds could be going down with 34+? Still closer than the mythical 40 points, which has been more than enough for the last decade. Burnley's sudden upturn in form after ditching Dyche was certainly unexpected though.

In a crucial game, Burnely beat Watford 2-1 after scoring twice in the last 10 minutes. Norwich are relegated after losing to Villa.
Wtford look down and out and Everton are now 5 points adrift from the safety zone.

In a more crucial game, Marske United beat Stockton Town 2-1 in the Northern Premier League East Division Playoff Final and will play at the 7th tier of English football for the first time next season.

Good, get them and Liversedge out of the Northern Premier League, both have been way too good at that level this season, their budgets are better suited to a higher level

Congrats to Marske. I just unexpectedly watched Leeds Man City with my son which was lovely, despite the result, he never expected anything different, and he does think they are in trouble as Everton could win a couple of home games? Leeds playing Brentford and Brighton could be really crucial games to keep them up! And I really hope the Stags dont cock it up as they have two difficult games away at Salford and home to Forest Green, both of which I'm watching! And they need 3 points to be certain of the playoffs! Anything more than that looks beyond them, but I always live in hope!

Everton beat Chelsea so Leeds really are dropped right into the dog-fight now.

Now either I'm being an idiot or I'm being lucky... I've just taken Newcastle to beat Man City 3-0 tomorrow, a fiver at 200-1. I'll either be £1,000 richer or the bookies will have £5 of my money. I've had a feeling all week that we are going to do it.
