HALLOWEEN: Studio 666 (2022)
IMDB Rating: 5.7
Premise: Legendary rock band Foo Fighters move into an Encino mansion steeped in grisly rock and roll history to record their much-anticipated 10th album. Once in the house, Dave Grohl finds himself grappling with supernatural forces that threaten both the completion of the album and the lives of the band.
Razzle's Review: I wasn't sure if I would watch this one given Taylor Hawkins death and this being a mockumentary style film horror film, but it was equal parts comedy too with some music in there too. I thought it was pretty good, the band take the mick out of themselves ad some of the horror scenes are nice and gory, it was exactly the B-movie ride I was expecting
Trailer:
Quotes: Restaurant Delivery Guy: Your my favourite band after Coldplay

New year, new streamline format
October 1st: Scream 6 (2023)
IMDB Rating: 6.5
Premise: In the next instalment, the survivors of the Ghostface killings leave Woodsboro behind and start a fresh chapter in New York City
Razzle's Review: Done to death by now but Scream 6 has its moments, if you hate films that are similar to the previous ones in a franchise then avoid, you will hate it, if you enjoy a slasher for what it is then you will enjoy Scream 6 because it is the same movie you enjoyed 20 years ago only with a bigger budget

October 2nd: The Pope's Exorcist (2023)
IMDB Rating: 6.1
Premise: Follow Gabriele Amorth, the Vatican's leading exorcist, as he investigates the possession of a child and uncovers a conspiracy the Vatican has tried to keep secret
Razzle's Review: Inspired by the actual files of Father Gabriele Amorth, Chief Exorcist of the Vatican. Russell Crowe is brilliant in this role, he makes the character he plays feel warm, humorous and likeable, it is one of his best immersive performances, don't be put off by all of the recent sloppy films about demonic possession, this one is worth watching

October 3rd: 65 (2023)
IMDB Rating: 5.4
Premise: After a catastrophic crash, pilot Mills quickly discovers he's actually stranded on an unknown planet. Now, with only one chance at rescue, Mills must make his way across an unknown terrain riddled with dangerous prehistoric creatures in an epic fight to survive.
Razzle's Review: Adam Driver gave a good performance, the story was interesting and the special effects were good, if you like dinosaurs and sci fi theme then this is right up your street, ignore the negative reviews, this is one that has been attacked by an army of review trolls, sure dinosaur films have been done before and trekking across a hostile planet to find the escape vehicle has too but it was a very enjoyable film

October 4th: Evil Dead Rise (2023)
IMDB Rating: 6.6
Premise: A twisted tale of two estranged sisters whose reunion is cut short by the rise of flesh-possessing demons, thrusting them into a primal battle for survival as they face the most nightmarish version of family imaginable.
Razzle's Review: The 5th instalment in a franchise was pretty good, updated for a modern audience with fresh new characters (a single mother and her children being the main protagonists), the possession parts were very good and there was just enough gore to keep me satisfied.

October 5th: No One Will Save You (2023)
IMDB Rating: 6.3
Premise: An exiled anxiety-ridden homebody must battle an alien who's found its way into her home.
Razzle's Review: Just three days after the film was released Stephen King gave it the highest praise on his Twitter account, where he posted this comment: "NO ONE WILL SAVE YOU: Brilliant, daring, involving, scary. You have to go back over 60 years, to a TWILIGHT ZONE episode called The Invaders (1961) to find anything remotely like it. Truly unique. I enjoyed the film too but not as much as Mr King, the aliens were creepy and relentless and the lack of dialogue sucked you in

October 6th: Terrifier 2 (2002)
IMDB Rating: 6.1
Premise: After being resurrected by a sinister entity, Art the Clown returns to the timid town of Miles County where he targets a teenage girl and her younger brother on Halloween night.
Razzle's Review: Much better production than the first film which was basically a low budget indie film, the sequel delves deeper into the twisted wold of Art the Clown. This one goes over the top with gore but i love it, a little campy but fun

October 7th: Nowhere (2023)
IMDB Rating: 6.4
Premise: A young pregnant woman named Mia escapes from a country at war by hiding in a maritime container aboard a cargo ship. After a violent storm, Mia gives birth to the child while lost at sea, where she must fight to survive.
Razzle's Review: I like the lost at sea format, that in itself is scary enough, but this one is set in a dystopian future where Spain has been turned into a dictatorship and it's government plans to eradicate children, pregnant women and elderly to deal with the lack of resources, there are some nice cinema moments here, film was dubbed in English with the original being in Spanish

October 8th: The Ruins (2008)
IMDB Rating: 5.9
Premise: A leisurely Mexican holiday takes a turn for the worse when a group of friends and a fellow tourist embark on a remote archaeological dig in the jungle, where something evil lives among the ruins
Razzle's Review: 15 years old now but a good one, anyone that touches the temple can never leave, we have confused tourists, mental locals that can't speak the same language and a temple that once you touch you can never leave, what's not to like?

October 9th: Hannibal Rising (2007)
IMDB Rating: 6.1
Premise: After the death of his parents during World War II, young Hannibal Lecter moves in with his beautiful aunt and begins plotting revenge on the barbarians responsible for his sister's death.
Razzle's Review: Wow, can't believe I haven't seen this one before, Much better than I thought it would be given the snobby reviews and not one but two Razzie nominations as Worst Excuse for a Horror Movie and Worst Prequel, I'm not a hardcore fan of the franchise, The Silence of the Lambs was a film that passed me by so I guess I'm not comparing it to what the critics say is one of the best films ever made, I have a taste now though and fancy watching the Mads Mikkelsen TV series

October 10th: Sick (2022)
IMDB Rating: 6.0
Premise: Due to the pandemic, Parker and her best friend decide to quarantine at the family lake house alone - or so they think. Razzle's Review: This was a last minute watch, noticed it was on Sky Premiere and missed the first 10 minutes but I got the jist, it is a Covid horror movie, two girls isolating in a cabin, the love interest turns up as does the {Killer}{Spoiler}it was someone close to the person that died because one of the loose woman recklessly gave them covid, stabby stabby, shock horror Razzle's Spooky Rating: 5.5

October 11th: Cujo (1983)
IMDB Rating: 6.1
Premise: Cujo, a friendly St. Bernard, contracts rabies and conducts a reign of terror on a small American town Razzle's Review: A classic Stephen King novel turned film, less of a horror than I expected but there is nothing more scary than an animal with rabies hunting you down, far as I know it has a 100% death rate. I enjoyed the film but I think it might be one Stephen King film that would benefit from a remake, the attack/death scenes particularly haven't aged well because they used actual dogs and these friendly St. Bernards wagged their tails and at times looked more guilty of licking their victims to death Razzle's Spooky Rating: 6.5

October 12th: Carrie (2013)
IMDB Rating: 5.8
Premise: A shy girl, outcast by her peers and sheltered by her religious mother, unleashes telekinetic terror on her small town after being pushed too far at her senior prom.
Razzle's Review: Another classic Stephen King novel turned film, this time a remake starring Chloë Grace Moretz as Carrie, this remake got trashed by anyone wedded to the idea the original was a classic...it wasn't, this one is better, if you disagree fight me bro. My only complaint is the excellent Chloë Grace Moretz is more prom queen than outcast teen

October 13th: Ouija (2014)
IMDB Rating: 4.5
Premise: A group of friends must confront their most terrifying fears when they awaken the dark powers of an ancient spirit board.
Razzle's Review: This movie was by no means a cinematic masterpiece but for a PG-13 horror movie it was ok, acting was a bit naf, special effects were good though, the best thing about it was it spawned an excellent sequel

October 14th: Ouija: Origin of Evil (2016)
IMDB Rating: 6.2
Premise: In 1967 Los Angeles, a widowed mother and her daughters add a new stunt to bolster their seance scam business by inviting an evil presence into their home, not realizing how dangerous it is
Razzle's Review: A widow struggles to make ends meet and uses her two daughters in a scam seance business. The youngest daughter is drawn to the board believing she is in contact with the spirit of her dead father. A malevolent entity is in deed summoned and all hell breaks loose. Much better than the original

October 15th: M3GAN (2022)
IMDB Rating: 6.4
Premise: When Gemma suddenly becomes the caretaker of her orphaned 8-year-old niece, Cady, Gemma's unsure and unprepared to be a parent. Under intense pressure at work, Gemma decides to pair her M3GAN prototype with Cady in an attempt to resolve both problems-a decision that will have unimaginable consequences
Razzle's Review: Do you want Terminators? This is how we get terminators, make an AI robot with the capability to learn and a brief to protect life at all costs, what did you think would happen!!! Love these kind of films, it was like a good, feature length Black Mirror episode

October 16th: Orphan: First Kill (2022)
IMDB Rating: 5.9
Premise: After orchestrating a brilliant escape from an Estonian psychiatric facility, Esther travels to America by impersonating the missing daughter of a wealthy family.
Razzle's Review: Prequel to the 2009 horror film Orphan, which i haven't watched yet! I need to get round to that one because it is meant to be a lot better (7.0 on IMDB), this one was a bit deranged and had some good twists though, enough to get me interested in checking out the 2009 film
