22 Far From Over - Frank Stallone
Now again normally I wouldnt include this but numbers. To me there is hardly any songs in this genre that are actually bad and even if they are really awful they make me smile. But this is too awful to ignore, Makes David Hasslehoff look like Bruce Springsteen. But normally fast tempo AOR is almost a faultless genre to me, thats just who I am!

21 Snot Rap - Kenny Everett
This is awful of course but I actually liked this at the time was a huge Kenny Everett fan and its better than the next rap song. But in general almost all rap even the real stuff wasn't amazing yet Apart from The Sugar Hill Gang of course.

20 Wham Rap! (Enjoy What You Do?) - Wham!
At the time I only liked one Wham song which was 'Club Tropicana' the rest I could not stand. I do like a lot more now but they still have songs that have to be on my worst list, including this one. Can any of you actually admit you knew George Michael was an amazing talent based on this song? *****tumbleweeds****

19 Tonight I Celebrate My Love - Peabo Bryson, Roberta Flack
I dont expect this choice to be popular and I must admit there are times I do like this, in my most sentimental, weak moments. They are both great singers and it is a good ballad but I just can't take it anymore, I guess I have a heart of stone

18 Please Don't Fall in Love - Cliff Richard

17 I'm Never Giving Up - Sweet Dreams
1981 we had a great entry, 1982 we had a good entry, and 1983 we have this.....This is dreadful, they even try and be like Bucks Fizz with their colours and miniskirts. They jsut forgot to bring a good song. Its like a theme to a kids show on CITV

16 Shiny Shiny - Haysi Fantayzee
They are back so not a one hit wonder and this might actually be worse, we really just lapped up anything in the early 80s.

15 The Curly Shuffle - Jump 'N' The Saddle Band
This song was bad enough until I realised it was some weird tribute to The Three Stooges and that makes it even worse. Not sure I ever found them funny.

14 Puttin' on the Ritz - Taco
If Falco did show tunes, actually thats not fair on Falco, this guy is way way worse. Again i dont think this has any redeeming qualities at all, this called played on the radio, its a US hit. why???

13 My Love - Lionel Richie
Its a Lionel ballad, i dont need to say anymore. You know what you are getting, if you like it you will be happy , if you are like me, you will stick knitting needles in your ears.

12 My Oh My - Slade
I quite like a lot of Slade's 80s song but I always hated this one. They call it a power ballad that is being generous, if this is what a Slade power ballad sounds like, they maybe should have avoided doing them. Dreadful!

11 Major Tom - Coming Home - Peter Schilling
I think I have been a bit unfair to this, its maybe not that bad. Oh its the chorus yes it is. But yes there are good things in this track but a lot of it is horrible as well. Maybe add on 20 places for that bass line and Police esque riffs. But it is so 80s!!

10 Tahiti - David Essex
I totally forgot about this one, could this be the worst David Essex song, no I still think he has one too come but this is unbearable.

9 Rat Rapping - Roland Rat Superstar
Sorry Roland you arent worse than that David Essex song but otherwise of course its bad, its another stupid tv character doing a rap song, as everyone is doing it, most very badly.

8 What Are We Gonna Get 'Er Indoors? - Dennis Waterman & George Cole
Dennis is back and its the real Arthur Daley, think I rather have the fake one again. We are really hitting new depths here. When 1983 is bad its really bad.

7 Hold Me 'Til The Morning Comes (with Peter Cetera) - Paul Anka, Peter Cetera
What is usualy worse than a bad Chicago song, a bad Peter Cetera song and this duet is draedful beyond believe. Makes the Amy Grant duet look like a masterpiece. This has to stop.

"I'm Never Giving Up" is my SOTY of 1983 and 2nd favourite British Eurovision entry (behind "A Message To Your Heart" from 1991).

6 Superman - Black Lace
Easy target maybe but is it worse than all the songs we have so far, ok maybe not David Essex but still. If you were 13 and had to go on camping holidays, you had to put up with this stuff, it was torture.
