Longer is due to enter my chart on 19 January (so the one I publish tomorrow). 12 January is a quiet week but there are a lot of songs on 19 January, and it will be the 5th highest entry that week as I quite like it (but there are 4 others above it).
Anne Murray's pointless cover of Daydream Believer sits bottom of the list of songs that week for me. Songwriter John Stewart has a song on my latest 1980 playlist.

18 Never Knew Love Like This Before - Stephanie Mills
Oh my god, its another disco ballad and yes I got this wrong Peaches & Herb is worse than this but this was a bigger hit and unavoidable at the time. I liked some of this stuff but there was a whole subgenre I hated, see the next song. Its harmless and pointless, its just there music.

17 My Old Piano - Diana Ross
'Upside Down' was a tune this isnt! We are just getting personal now, I know this isn't actually bad like some of the songs we had earlier but I just can't stand it. I really dont care about her piano at all and wish it would go away.

16 Lady - Kenny Rogers
Oh dear again Im not against Kenny in anyway, 'Coward Of The County' did not make the list but this US number one, not deserving at all, is just to schmaltzy and its even a bit sinister, I dunno I really dont like it. The piano beat is the same as a horror movie, its just everything I couldn't stand with music at this time.

15 One Day I'll Fly Away - Randy Crawford
After the last few songs you must have seen this coming. I just hate this so much, I feel like I must be in Guantanamo Bay forcing myself to listen to this while I type these comments. Just awful.

24 Babooshka - Kate Bush
Damn lost my whole post. Ok lets try and recreate that. I hated Kate Bush when I was young, everything she did but in my 20s I reappraised her and came to like many of her songs. Not this though, never this. It is horrible, the video doesn't help. Cant believe I just listened to the whole song. The breaking glass is the best part as thats how this song makes me feel and as for the sinister man at the end why!!!! Blasphemy!! I love almost everything Kate's ever done, the one I always struggled with out of her better-known songs is 'Sat In Your Lap' but I've come to love even that one and its weirdness.

14 I Could Be so Good for You - Dennis Waterman
He stars, he writes the theme tune, he sings the theme tune. Whoeever told him he could sing and if it was just that it wouldnt be enough but what even is this song, is it meant to be rnb, it has zero soul, pop barely. Ok it is catchy but only because you couldnt avoid it!! After this how did he get to sing more themes!!

13 The Rose - Bette Midler
This is very biased, I hate everything that Bette Midler sings and although this is horrible, its not even in her top 10 worst songs. Again I think you can tell why I hate this. Not saying anymore or listening to anymore.

12 Rabbit - Chas & Dave
Now I know Chas & Dave have been reappraised as talented musicians and not a novelty but I'm sorry that does not include this song. It has to be one of the most annoying songs of all time, those rhymes just stop....

11 January, February - Barbara Dickson
For a whole generation the words 'And now Barbara Dickson...' send shivers down their spine. The second worst musical guest that was regularly on The Two Ronnies. Nothing will beat Cleo Laine, thankfully she has nothing on this list.
I hated this song so much and still do , it actually spoiled the calendar for me forever!!

yeh it is, this was written by the same guy who relaunched Cliff's career with 'We Don't Talk Anymore' its not on the same level at all.

Caravan Song is also on my list of 19 January, the same week that has "Longer" by Dan Fogelberg and sits second from bottom.

Most of these are just okay songs but the five I really like are:
Air Supply Kelly Marie Nick Straker Band Stephanie Mills Bette Midler
I suspect there's a nother Diana Ross track coming up in the top 10

Shall we try to guess the top 10?
Looking at the UK number ones, as well as the obvious Grandma song, Fern Kinney and Johnny Logan both have a good chance of coming up - I detest the former of those, I don't mind the Johnny Logan song but it will probably appear.
