Another massive movie for Cliff.
The plot may have been cheesy but what the heck. It was a musical, not Shakespeare or Ibsen.
Hey fellas, let's put on a show. Bless.
Another classic - but looks like Cliff won't "one day, teach the young ones of his own" as the song goes (slight editorial).

Whaddya know another song featured in a movie.
Whitney has star quality no doubt. Great, powerful vocal performance.
Strange to think it was written by Dolly Parton, who had a minor hit with it in the States.

That's kinda superfluous .. yeah

Back to the movies
Robin Hood, Prince Of Thieves
Great song by the canadian artist.
Didn't achieve that run at #1 for no reason.
Next.

1st entry for Roy and what a nice high spot to debut in. What can you say about this guy. Distinctive vocals. Such emotion. Brilliant song - if a mite on the sad side.

#23
Entry number five for Cliff.
A genuine double A entry too. Both sides really work.
TNT is just so lush and shows off Cliff's rich vocal talent so well. I can try to see past the string vest look in the movie. Oh oh - fashion alert!
Did you know that Cliff and the Shads 'knocked off' Bachelor Boy in an afternoon as a last minute insert for the movie.
Inspired on the hoof song writing.
No truth in the rumour that the song was prophetic.

Madonna had to feature
Can't say I've loved everything but she has had her fair share of top rate songs and you can't deny her impact on the UK charts over the years or the records she has set.
Most consecutive Top Ten hits by any artist.
Most Top 10 hits by a female vocalist by a long, long way.
More #1 hits than any other female vocalist.
A top star, a top song.
Just misses a Top Twenty slot by a mere 3 points on my score sheet.

I am a believer
I told you Neil Diamond featured didn't I - what agenius of a songwriter
Shame more of his own recordings weren't #1 hits here - he'd have at least three entries in my Top 50 if that were the case.
This track is so well put together and the US fab four (!!!) never sounded better.

Frankie's second entry.
Been done to death several times over the years. This is still the best version.
So emotive.
Great
The oldest song in my countdown.
