30 Arcade Fire - Intervention Brilliant single from one of the albums of the year, they have 2 more to come,no official video for this. 29 Editors -Smokers Outside Hospital Doors We really are in the class songs now from another album contender for best of the year. 28 Manic Street Preachers – Your Love Alone Is Not Enough Best single for years from the Manics with the lovely Nina from the Cardigans too. 27 Biffy Clyro - Semi Mental First entry for my band of the year, this was a download only single released just before the new rules technically 2006 but it charted too late to make my 2006 list. This single was good but didnt hint at the greatest to come with the album. 26 Mason - Exceeder I hate the princess superstar version this is the original and the best,no proper video but no rubbish rap either so a fair trade off. One of the best dance tracks on the 00s so far. 25 Kaiser Chiefs – Ruby Now one of teh songs that defined the year, you can imagine that when reviewers talk about 2007 in some 'I love the noughties' show in 15 years,2 songs will be played 'Umbrella' and this one. Just a total anthem. 24 The Shins - Phantom Limb I almost missed this somehow I had the other Shins singles on the list, they don't quite touch the greatest of 'New Slang' but this comes very close. 23 The Gossip - Standing In The Way Of Control Another indie anthem that did much better on re-issue for me,Im a little bit sick of it now though 22 Biffy Clyro - Saturday Superhouse Its the Biff again and this track showed what was too come, great rock pop in the Foos mould. 21 CSS - Lets Make Love And Listen To Death From Above Its another re-issue but 2007 was the year I got them, just love this album and they are very cute.Just love the story that says when they first started singing in English they had loads of rude lyrics but they didnt know what they meant.just brilliant.

Excellent to see Exceeder in there. Love that but really wasn't keen on the 'Perfect' version.

2 huge hits in this section 20 Mark Ronson feat. Daniel Merriweather - Stop Me I dont why I love this so much, its just so different how covers should be done. 19 New Young Pony Club – Ice Cream Another reissue but this is just fabulous, such a great sound. 18 Biffy Clyro - Machines A very classic style ballad from my band of teh year and yes it does sound like 'Nothing Ever Happens' by 'Del Amitri' but they were my favourite Scottish band in 1989 so why not hehe KInda teh same theme as 'Wires' by Athlete as well but as we know the death of his mother as brought out some amazing personal songs for them. 17 Band Of Horses - Is There A Ghost? The only radio only single in the top 200 but this song is just so beautiful spent 4 weeks at number one in my chart just so gorgeous. If you must hear one song in my list that you have nver heard before it is this one. 16 Maps – You Don’t Know Her Name Ooooh hairs on the back of my neck go every time I play this and amazing record for anybody who hasnt heard it 'Air' meets 'My Bloody Valentine' just about covers it 15 Biffy Clyro - Living Is a Problem Because Everything Dies Biffy go prog hehe, this is just an amazing epic track and to be honest I didnt get into it at first but when the chorus kicks in it is just awesome, another track that is a bit like the Foos but beats them at their own game I think. 14 Robyn with Kleerup - With Every Heartbeat Now the best pop song of the year, again hairs go on my neck, just brilliant production perfect vocals and such an infection lyric. Pure pop perfection. I didnt like the follow up but liking her new song but tbh this song is just on a different level. 13 Bloc Party – Flux Now something we never thought we would hear Bloc Party fully embracing dance music and how brilliant are they for it and I am loving the power rangers style video never seen it before now lol dancing cylons great stuff hehe 12 Modest Mouse - Dashboard Now a band who surprisling had the single of the year for me in 2005 with 'Float On' this song aint quite as good but it comes damn close. 11 Pigeon Detectives - Take Her Back I'm not a huge fan of the new breed of Arctics style bands but this song is just so infectious, you just cant help singing it.just a great anthem and funny lyrics too.
