66. Speedway - Can't Turn Back [2004]I can't say I was ever a big fan of Speedway - Can't Turn Back was their only really good song IMO. I found I could really relate to the song at the time. Still sounds good.

Three good choices there:
Keane - Everybodys Changing: This would be quite up my all time list as well.
The Feeling - Fill My Little World: This is a great summery song, and was also the decider on whether to get the 12 Stops And Home album or not. It also has the additional memory of being my personal chart #1 on my 30th birthday.
Rui Da Silva - Touch Me: It took me ages to get into this song, in fact it didn't start to like it until Cass Fox released her own solo version of it. Nice solid dance track.

65. Bloc Party - The Pioneers [2005]Back when they came out, I found listening to Bloc Party a very frustrating experience. I really wanted to get into them, but for some reason, I couldn't. Everything changed when the fantastic The Pioneers came out, and my Bloc Party love grew from there.

64. Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Maps [2003]Among the shouty nonsense that the Yeah Yeah Yeahs have come out with, this is one of only two good songs that they have done (the other being Gold Lion, which misses the top 100). Another song that reminds me of my early university days. For some reason Maps has always stuck with me since.

Yeah Yeah Yeahs' "Maps" is brilliant. 2003 seems like such a long time ago now.

2003 does seem like so long ago. It was a great year too 63. Nelly Furtado - Powerless (Say What You Want) [2003]Before Nelly Furtado totally sold out by working with Timbashite came the fantastic album Folklore. First single from it was the wonderful Powerless. I remember that I couldn't get it out of my head for ages at the time. It still remains one of the best things she has done. Another song to come from Nelly F though

62. Maximo Park - Our Velocity [2007]A song just SCREAMING OUT for a Formula One highlight reel (but for some reason ITV chose the rubbish Gotta Work by Amerie). Yet another fantastic anthem from the Newcastle five-piece.

61. Nizlopi - Girls [2006]Everyone knows the JCB Song from Christmas 2005. But it was a crying shame that the follow-up Girls didn't get the same recognition (a #91 flop ). A beautiful and underrated song.

60. Alanis Morrisette - Hands Clean [2002]You can always rely on Alanis coming up with a gem of a guitar pop song. This is her finest hour in my opinion. She doesn't overcomplicate the song or the lyrics and as such there's something very pure and natural about the song.

59. Athlete - Twenty Four Hours [2005]Second of three entries in the top 100 for Athlete. This was one of the several of theirs that just missed the top 40 . I remember liking it at the time, but it grew on me a lot in the first half of 2006.

58. Sonique - It Feels So Good [1998/2000]I remember hearing this on the chart show in 1998 and quite liking it. It wasn't until the 2000 version came out when I realised how good the song actually is. I was ecstatic that it made number 1 - and for three weeks, which was an age at the time. To this day I still prefer the original 7" version from 1998, but the 2000 remix was still excellent as well.

57. Thirteen Senses - Into The Fire [2004]There aren't too many songs that I have fallen in love with as instantly as this one. I remember hearing it during the summer of 2004 and thinking that it would be absolutely huge. How wrong I was!! It somehow manages to pack a real punch with still maintaining its beauty and sincerity.

56. Aqualung - Strange and Beautiful (I'll Put A Spell On You) [2002]Another song that made a major impression on me the first time I heard it. Strange and Beautiful will always remind me of filling in my UCAS form and making my university choices, as I had got myself worked up about it at the time.

I agree with you about the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Maps was a decent song with most of the rest of their stuff rather dreadful.
Quite a few gems you've pulled out there but as yet no more NM #1s

Four great tracks in the last bunch there: Aqualung: Strange And Beautiful - 9/10 Thirteen Senses: Into The Fire - 9/10 Alanis Morissette: Hands Clean - 8.5/10, a great single on a really mediocre album. The only singles I prefer to this one are Head Over Feet and Joining You. Nelly Furtado: Powerless - 7/10, but Try is a 9/10. Forca is a 2/10. I didn't like the second album so much.

Next 5... 55. Everclear - Wonderful [2000]Wonderful passed me by the first time it was out, but I think it was used in an episode of Scrubs and got into it from then. A glorious song, with real meaning to it. I think we all feel a bit like that now and then.

54. S Club 7 - Reach [2000]I am sure that even the biggest music snob out there warms a bit to Reach. A perfect pop song through and through. It ALWAYS puts me in a good mood!

53. Idlewild - You Held The World In Your Arms [2002]This was the first song that introduced me to one of my favourite bands - Idlewild. Such a powerful, intense and emotive song.
