Crawley play like that every week, that's why this league is so chuffing hard to get out of, plus they splash the cash on loads of players, their normal crowd is 1300, but they deserved the win, Derby were poor, and it was a dive for the penalty. I'll say it again, one match ban for divers! At least the pen was saved, and looks like Tubbsy should have been red carded for the 2 footed tackle on Savage, then again it was on Savage... Torquay v Crawley in the next round and it's Torquay that put Mansfield out!

I used to go to Woking when they were near the top of the Conference and they regularly got 3000+ Definitely not a penalty and it was a blatant red card.

I knew that Crawley had spent a lot because I live with someone from Crawley and am good mates with another and both follow them as a second team, but I was still shocked that the amount they spent on transfers in the summer was more than the 24 League 2 clubs combined!

I spent most of my childhood living a few miles from Crawley (your housemate will know where Felbridge and East Grinstead are) although they were well down the non league set-up at the time. My mother - a life-long Derby supporter - said she had mixed feelings about tonight having lived near Crawley for over 45 years.

There's something a bit iffy about Crawley. They were nearly bankrupt a few years back, yet are spending more than League One and have as manager a chap who was banned after the Boston cheating...

They got a number of new investors. You could say the same about Chelsea who were heavily in debt before Abramovich arrived on the scene.

... If you'd told me on Friday evening that Torres would score an injury time FA Cup 3rd round winning goal this weekend I would have been ecstatic.....

Crawley is very dodgy, leagues should enforce an income to wages ratio to stop teams like that steamrollering their way to the top. What I dont get is what is in it for the investors, because what does spending 5 million to get into the Football league achieve, unless you have 5 million in dirty money? With Chelsea you can see that winning the Prem League, FA Cup and Chanps League are all prestiguous, but gaining entry to the Football league? Unless they seriously think they can keep climbing the ladder? When/If the investors pull out they are seriously in the sh*t, which is where they were a few years ago...
I thought I'd do a little inventory of all the teams and what leagues they are in that are left in the comp. obviously Hereford play Wycombe tonight, and we have some replays, but here it is at the moment...
Prem (15) Arsenal Aston Villa Birmingham City Blackburn Bolton Chelsea Everton Fulham Man City Man United Stoke Tottenham West Ham Wigan Wolves
Championship (7) Burnley Coventry Leeds Nott’m Forest Reading Swansea Watford
League 1 (6) Brighton Huddersfield Leyton Orient Notts County Sheffield Wednesday Southampton
League 2 (4) Burton Albion (3rd Lowest) Hereford (2nd Lowest) Stevenage Torquay
Conference (1) Crawley
There are also 4 all prem ties in the next round which will cull their numbers somewhat.

My TV predictions: Stevenage v Reading Notts County v Leicester/Man City Southampton v Manchester United Everton v Chelsea Fulham v Tottenham Agree with your last 4, they're the standout ties of the round as it stands atm for me. As for our game i did think it may possibly be shown initially but thought that was probably just me being biased! I'm not sure ESPN will show Stevenage again, not against a Championship club, ITV definitely won't. It really depends on the outcome of the replays, the 5th match to be picked looks open. Heard about two-thirds of the Stevenage game coming back from Reading on Sat on 5Live, 3-1 sounded a fair scoreline, although from watching the highlights Tiote's red card challenge wasn't as bad as the commentatators made it sound. Just knew we'd get them in the next round, other than another Championship club away its the tie i least wanted. Tbh i'd take a replay and beat them at the Mad Stad in the replay. Its strange, we've only reached the 5th rd a handful of times but if we do it this year it won't actually seem that special. The West Brom result was pretty good but it wasn't a surprise and 1-0 up against 10 men for half an hour i expected us to win anyway. Then in the next round we've got a match we're expected to come through. How about Birmingham v Coventry? Local derby between struggling prem club and an improving championship club. If Cov were at home, it'd be an easy pick.

No real interest outside the Midlands, it wouldn't be seen as a big shock, and there's no angst between Blues and Sky Blues.

There's no thread for the carling cup... well done to Ipswich last night, great performance and absolutely deserved their win.
As for Arsenal, well after smashing Chelsea I thought we'd kick on, but since then except for the Birmingham game we've been absolutely dire. Can't see us winning a game, let alone a trophy.

Last night? this evening ... And I'm so happy . We played so well, for a club who are almost down to L1 and managerless. Also, why do we need Paul Jewell...We have Charlie!

WOEFUL! I agree that they're pretty uninspiring but they're both commercial channels and need to maximise their audience for their advertisers. I'd love them to show Watford v Brighton but it wouldn't attract much of an audience.

As for Arsenal, well after smashing Chelsea I thought we'd kick on... Arsenal surely do their fair share of kicking. Six red cards this season is it? That's rich coming from a Birmingham fan... Red cards we've had since Feb 2009, and their reasons: Vermaelen (Mar 2010, West Ham (h), League), professional foul Koscielny (Aug 2010, Liverpool (a), league), two bullsh*t yellow cards Song (Sep 2010, Sunderland (a), league), two even more bullsh*t yellow cards Wilshere (Oct 2010, Birmingham (h), league), foul Koscielny (Nov 2010, Newcastle (h), league), professional foul Sagna (Jan 2011, Man City (h), league), violent conduct, stupid That's one red card for a bad tackle in the last two years. If referees had been as harsh on Birmingham as they have been on us, the record could have been: Johnson (Jan 2011, Arsenal (h), league), foul on Fabregas (lucky he didn't break his leg) Jerome (Jan 2011, Arsenal (h), league), stamp on Koscielny Bowyer (Jan 2011, Arsenal (h), league), stamp on Sagna (charged & suspended) Ridgewell (Jan 2011, Arsenal (h), league), two yellow cards (he got one, should've had another). Not sure about the rest of Birmingham's games as I usually fall asleep when that bunch of talentless thugs come on match of the day.

We've had 2 red cards in 2 seasons. We're the fourth cleanest team in the Premiership. Last season we committed fewer fouls than anyone else. In the Arsenal game the Johnson foul was one where he took the ball cleanly but the referee deemed it reckless (and not a two-footed tackle), Jerome's "stamp" on Koscielny was no such thing, and I can't even remember Ridgewell's incident. Bowyer I will agree with; of course Sagna had already stamped on him but (a) got away with it and (b) the media ignored it.
I'm frankly sick of Arsenal's holier than thou attitude. Van Persie is a diving cheat, Fabregas is a diving cheat, Wilsher is a diving cheat. Walcott is a self-confessed diving cheat. Meanwhile they keep raising in the media one foul from nearly four years ago to try to paint us as animals. A foul on a player who had done the exact same thing to someone a couple of years earlier. To a team-mate.
Meanwhile, in terms of bookings, Arsenal are the second most sinning team in the Premiership. Funny how the media conveniently ignore that.
