Australia 311-5 at the close. Missed opportunities by England, Australia taking advantage. If tomorrow's weather forecast is accurate, we might not get any play after lunch.

The test is on a knife-edge after a rain-affected third day. Australia were all out for 386 after losing their last 4 wickets for 14 runs. That gave England a 1st innings lead of 7 and they started well until rain stopped play. Then, during a brief resumption in between the rain, Australia managed to remove both Duckett and Crawley to leave England 28-2 at the close.

England reach 155-5 at lunch, a lead of 162. This 6th wicket partnership between Stokes and Bairstow could be crucial.

SMITH IS OUT. 89-3. All 3 wickets caught behind by Bairstow, atoning somewhat for his missed chances earlier in the match.

Dont get me wrong, it's thoroughly entertaining stuff, and we could still win, but we dont half throw our wickets away. Just think what another 50 runs in the middle order would have done to the run chase. BUt we will see what tomorrow brings I guess...

Just think what another 50 runs in the middle order would have done to the run chase. BUt we will see what tomorrow brings I guess... We've certainly batted better but if England don't win this game it will be because of the missed opportunities on Saturday - dropped catches, missed stumpings, Broad's no ball when he bowled Khawaja. England should have had a first innings lead close to 100, even after Stokes's bold declaration.

Yeah I think Bairstow is a liability as a keeper, but fantastic with the bat.

Play finally underway and England have the wicket of nightwatchman Boland. England need 6 more wickets, Australia not showing much interest in trying to chase the target so far.
