If other posters are interested....
I was going to go with HF10 in the new year, but can push the next round out until February to accommodate this.

Happy with HF10 whenever! In theory I am supposed to be moving house early next year but we don't have a completion date for that so as long as I can listen to music (which I can do at work if needs be) I can participate.

My plan was to have the "open for interest" thread first week of January.

My plan was to have the "open for interest" thread first week of January. That sounds perfect I have a feeling that I may need to put off 1978-1979 till January but as long as they don't overlap with the main rounds of HF that's fine

In which case I may have completed my retro chart of 1979 before it comes up in Time Machine.

To be fair it is kind of a natural break as 1978 as although we have punk and some new wave in 1977, 1978 is when it really hits the mainstream and 1979 is closer to the 80s generally than 70s sound.

My list of potential HIT tracks is now a full compilations worth I'm the same.
Might the best idea be to do similar to what some sports did to get around Covid and have a few rounds (i.e 3 or 4) of the competition one after the other across a number of weeks (in the same venue) some time during the year.
Perhaps have one host for all those rounds, and those interested in playing could submit a shortlist of tracks they want to be entered across those competitions in one go (i.e. Similar to the Decade's years contests)?

Re: January: Haven Decades Knock Out Song Contest 00s. I intend to get that started either Jan 1st or 2nd. But I'd thought I'd throw out an idea in here, and depending on the feedback I'll open up a thread (or send PMs): As the 2000s were more recent than previous decade contests it is less easy to measure what hit songs have aged well or not; and which minor hits/flops at the time have now become regarded as classics. So I was wondering about the idea of inviting everyone interested in suggesting 10 tracks from the decade (max one track per act) to be entered in this contest across the 768 tracks.
By that I mean please don't suggest stonewall 00s classics that will turn up (Pure Shores; Groovejet (If This Ain't Love); It Wasn't Me; Whole Again; How You Remind Me; Just Like A Pill; All The Things She Said; Crazy In Love; Seven Nation Army; etc). I currently have a shortlist of 40 tracks per year which are provisional "bankers" entries for this contest.
But rather more debatable entries (example: Will Young - Leave Right Now is a "banker"; but he has a few other tracks on my longlist which I might use or might not, so if you are a fan of one of his other 00s hits, then this could be the opportunity to ensure it is included). Whilst there are a number of minor hits, or alternative tracks which are highly regarded (Pitchfork; Radio 6 Music; etc). Some I might use or might not. But you could make that decision for me.
Thoughts?

Smurfie is it worth while opening up a new competition calendar for 2022 so we can get an idea of what we can look forward to. This one was very helpful for this year.
