I come back to this thread and we have 2 New Kids songs. I remember Games sampled the chant at the witch's castle in the Wizard of Oz.
Pat and Mick's song is a cover of Brendon's 1977 hit.
I have Another Bad Creation as being on my playlist of 2 February 1991 but not listed even in the bubblers which suggests it was too bad to stay on my playlist. Other than that, I don't recall it at all.

Up to this point the Wedding Present had two #1s with consecutive hits "Kennedy" and "Brassneck" but aside from those they have peaked at #7 and #8 a few times. This week they fly in at #8 with "Silver Shorts" and so are very likely to get a top 5 hit. And this after Three peaked at NM #16, two places lower than where it peaked in the UK chart.
There seems to be a pattern here than the song that was #4 in my chart moves to #1 in the combi-chart and then falls to #6 in mine. RHCP have already been #1 in the combi-chart so I don't think they'll go back there.
I think for this week I should post a video of my highest new entry

There is not long to go. The final week will be whichever weekend has the last set of full fixtures within any division.
Premier league concludes on 19 May Championship concludes on 4 May with games at 12:30pm League One concludes on 27 April with games at 12:30pm League Two concludes on 27 April with games at 3pm
That leaves the weekend of 11-12 May where there will only be Premier League games but they may be a bit scattered. 4th May will you need to predict before 12:30pm and I may do the same on 27 April.
Meanwhile the next two weekends will be as normal and I'll post the 13 April fixtures in the next post.

That Baby Love was a cover of a 1986 Regina hit from the USA that wasn't a hit here. "I Don't Wanna Take This Pain" is the only one of Dannii Minogue's 1991 singles to reach my chart, peaking at #27 right at the end of the year.

The week ahead is the one of "that" general election as well as the bomb at Staples Corner. Easter would have been late that year so the only resurrection this week is the Stone Roses new entry.

Timmy Mallett was very talented as an entertainer. He wasn't a great vocalist but this was intended as a comic record, very much in the "I bet I can get a number one" challenge by Andrew Lloyd Webber.
So take a TV comedian, a silly novelty song from 1960, a few backing vocalists to make it sound a bit more modern, and release it in the summer season.
And then of course you need at least someone to play it, but hey, we have a TV comedian with a show, so it can start there.
If it contributes anything to the world of pop, it's showing how the industry can easily manipulate getting a number one single.
Yes it kept Deacon Blue off #1 but theirs was just a covers EP itself. I never quite got how that was their biggest hit. They had number one albums, but also released so many great singles that under-performed. And it knocked that Turtles one off the top - nobody really cared about that.
True that the DNA remake of the Suzanne Vega song was probably more deserving of being a chart topper.
Wiggle It: Yeah I recall now that was out first in 1990 in the USA, but I think of it as 1991. A bit silly but nothing terrible about it.
Jive Bunny: I'd almost forgotten how long they continued. That Sounds Good To Me entered at #4 then stayed there another week ending their run of chart-toppers. After which, we never expected them to get to #1 again, and when they released anything we knew it was a medley but often forgot what songs they'd put on it.
Status Quo: They played a similar medley when I saw them live, maybe that was just a thing they had been doing at live shows for a while. So they decided to release such a medley. I don't recall much activity by them between "In The Army Now" and this apart from "Burning Bridges (On And Off And On Again)" so their career had been relatively quiet compared to previously.
