Ah, The Onion. Nearly 20 years old and still nowhere near as funny as it thinks it is.

GB win bronze in the women's curling! 6-5 against Switzerland! Another poor start but GB recovered against weaker opposition and controlled the second half of the match to set up the final end where they just needed 1 to win and had the hammer, allowing Eve Muirhead to seal victory with a simple draw.

That medal brings GB's guaranteed total to 4, equalling our best ever tally at the Winter Olympics. And we still have Elise Christie tomorrow in the 1000m and the 4-man bobsleigh, who have been going very well in the training runs.

Great recovery after a shaky start by Muirhead and her team. Really pleased for them.

All very well but let's not forget Ms Muirhead cost us a silver and possibly a gold medal.
Congrats to the team anyway and hard luck to Switzerland.

She's a miserable failure, and should be reminded at every possible opportunity how badly she let you down, after all the hard work you invested in trying to win the curling gold medal.

Great result for Eve and her rink - lived up to their billing as world champs and can see them still doing well in 2018.

Well the way they were going on about her on Five Live after today's victory makes me sick - they have incredibly short memories.

rubcale in irrational hatred of pretty young sportswoman shocker. Typical. Focusing on the failures of someone who's had a degree of success in a sport she's already admitted she knows absolutely nothing about.

if you watch curling, you will understand everybody makes mistakes, hell your skidding down some ice flinging a rock 100 feet and if your a cm out you can mishit the shot, its how you come back from them set backs that win you the game, this is the youngest curling team ever to win a medal at the Olympics right?
no way did she cost them gold, she won them bronze and the country should be proud

Focusing on the failures of someone who's had a degree of success in a sport she's already admitted she knows absolutely nothing about. It is a key part of the Olympic Charter that we should all be free to pontificate on sports about which we know nothing. I don't really see why curling is not a mixed sport as men don't seem to have any great advantage (or disadvantage) over women. Of course, they could have fixed roles with the men chucking the stones (or whatever the technical term is) leaving the women to do the sweeping

^^^ I was speculating today that the GB men's and women's teams would probably attract a lot of interest if they went on a UK tour playing a series of exhibition matches against each other. I'd certainly travel 45-60 minutes to Nottingham or Sheffield Ice Arenas to see them in action.

Well the way they were going on about her on Five Live after today's victory makes me sick - they have incredibly short memories. Yes, it's absolutely pathetic how the Woman's Curling Team ranked 3rd in the world (going by numerous tournaments played over a 2 year period) finished 3rd in their sport, equalling the result expected of them. Especially pathetic seeing how they lost to Canada in the Semi Finals who went through the entire tournament including winning the Gold Medal this afternoon, winning every single one of their 11 matches. Seriously rubcale, the rubbish you have spouted on this belongs to the average xenophobic "IngurLand" football supporter ...
