Off topic, but Paul McCartney wrote Yellow Submarine. Ringo wrote Yellow Submarine didnt he? Also every song that is written isnt going to be a classic. Suedehead is right I would put all those above Noel and I dont even like Elbow. yeah why not? what about the beatles? lyrics ? at times they seem dodgy. Yellow submarine? wild honey pie? and more Noel is up there with the greatest no doubt

I'd say Blur's "Beetlebum" is definitely a mis-spelled homage! Beetlebum is taken from the drug reference "Chasing The Beetle". It's a song about heroin

CLOSED Congrats to Alanis & REM who go through. Madonna, Oasis (DM) and Pulp are all out as are Oasis with WTSMG as in coming third it only got 9 votes as opposed to the 10 votes thet third placed Radiohead got int he other semi! I thought you were picking the album coming 3rd that sold the most . Must have read it wrong earlier

I'ts because people buy what they hear. All the songs on radio/tv (eg Radio 1 and X Factor/Glee) are all the same. TV needs more shows like Jools Holland that plays all types of music.
