Spurs did win and Chelsea didn't which means Spurs have qualified for the Champions League, but as Chelsea drew they can overtake Liverpool if they win their final game and Liverpool lose theirs in which case Chelsea will have one point more. If Liverpool draw, Chelsea will need to win by 16 goals.
That Huddersfield drew means they are mathematically safe. Swansea in fact are pretty much relegated unless they won and Southampton lose and there is at least a 9 goal-difference swing. Swansea have been in the Premier League since 2011. They are the newest of the 3 going down this season, which means everyone relegated this season will have been in the division at least 7 seasons. (Southampton were promoted into the Premier League one season later).

Sadly in the consecutive seasons in the Top flight, we now have the usual suspects at the top 1 Arsenal 92 2 Everton 64 3 Liverpool 56 4 Man U 43 5 Spurs 40 6 Chelsea 29 7 Man City 16 I'm not sure who comes next?

The last time that all the teams relegated from the top division had been in it for at least 7 seasons was 1967-68.
Only two teams were relegated back then. Sheffield United had been there for 7 seasons, promoted in 1961 and Fulham had been in the top flight for 9 seasons having been promoted there in 1959.

Yep, and this has been true since Villa were relegated - but as implied by the previous post, we lost positions 8, 9, and 10 this season. Arsenal nearing 100

So Cove Rangers drew with Cowdenbeath at home 0-0 after spanking Spartans in the last round, methinks they are going to throw it in the away leg, and the Blue Brazil will be safe for another season.

The last weekend of the English and Scottish league season...
Saturday 12 May National League: It's Boreham Wood v Tranmere in the play-off final. Boreham Wood have never been in the football league; Tranmere were there from 1921 to 2015, and lost last season's play-off final.
SPL: Ross County will be relegated unless they win and Partick Thistle don't, in which case they'll have a relegation play-off final against Livingston or Dundee United. Conversely, Partick Thistle will be relegated if they don't win and Ross do; they'll be in the play-offs otherwise, unless they win, Hamilton lose, and there's a 14-goal swing.
Scottish League Two: The winners of the Peterhead v Stenhousemuir final will be promoted. Stenhousemuir lead 2-0 after the first leg. Cowdenbeath will be relegated (and Cove Rangers will take their place) if they lose their play-off final (first leg was 0-0).
Sunday 13 May Premier League: Liverpool will take the final Champions League place unless they lose and Chelsea win. The fifth-placed team will enter the Europa League, unless Liverpool are overtaken, but then win the Champions League final. Swansea will be relegated unless they beat Stoke, Southampton lose to Man City, and there's a 10-goal swing.
SPL: Rangers will claim the a Europa League spot unless they lose at Hibernian by six goals. The fourth-placed team will still reach the EL if Celtic beat Motherwell in next week's final.
Scottish Championship: Dumbarton will be relegated if Alloa overturn a 1-0 deficit in the play-off final second leg.

So Barnet and Boreham Wood will swap divisions. That is pretty much a local derby and both are very close to where I live.

I hope Boreham Wood don't come up, their ground and support is tiny, I do like to see new teams doing well and underdogs and all that, but please Tranmere win that and bring a great away support to the Stags next season, rather than the 20 Boreham Wood will bring if we're lucky!

I agree. I'd very much like to see Tranmere return to the Football League.

Have you done their ground shireb? It's one I've yet to go to...

Have you done their ground shireb? It's one I've yet to go to... Oh yes. A very memorable night. Tranmere (3rd tier) vs Southampton (top tier) in an FA Cup replay. Southampton 3-0 up at half-time, and the few hundred Saints fans who'd travelled up February midweek all joined up to do one enormous long conga around the away stand at half-time. Final score:- Tranmere 4-3 Southampton. My visits to Merseyside haven't been auspicious. I've seen Southampton lose 7-1 to Liverpool (1999) and lose 7-1 to Everton (1996).

Tranmere are 1-0 up in the play-off final despite having a player sent off after 40 seconds.

Great to see Tranmere get through, and of course Cove Rangers lost! Play offs evenly poised.

Sadly robbed by a very dodgy refereeing decision last night. Hopefully justice will prevail in the second leg.

So Boreham Wood will play Barnet in the Conference next season, that will be an interesting local derby.
By the way, in longevity, Southampton's is equal to West Ham, should they stay up. Both were promoted to the Premier League in 2012.

Maybe Robin, but I expect you've had a few dodgy decisions go your way through the season with Jorge Grant in your side

We were robbed by 2 refereeing decisions. The one who scored for them should have been sent off earlier for an elbow, and we should have had a penalty for handball.
