Is this the first proper single back or is it just something to give to radio as a teaser for the new album which is what bands seem to like doing now. Its just it doesnt seem like a big comeback single to me and more of a solid enough album track.

Its not a bad song, but it lacks something for me, although I am not sure what that something is.

The Killers have gone the same way as Kings Of Leon ie started off really well and then pretty much downhill from there. Still I saw them in a pretty small venue I think it was either the week before or the same week the first album came out. The problem with this song is it tries to hard.

Disappointingly average on first listen.

whatever happened to the automatic? they were HUGE for a while when 'monster' came out... now they're kind of dead. They're still going, they were a lot better after the keyboard player left. According to wiki they arent really still going as the members are off doing other things, but they havent actually split up either.

On counting, I saw 1.1 five times, 1.2 once, 1.3 once and 2.0 once. I was lucky enough to see the original line-up once which was by luck as I went to see another band on the bill that night. I then saw the line-up which had the success a few times (lost count but I can think of 5 of the top of my head), saw the new three piece once and then think Ive seen them twice as a duo.

Easyworld's first album is much better than the 2nd in my view.

there was something about kinesis that didn't sound mainstream for me at the time they were around. i liked their first album, but wasn't really surprised they didn't get anywhere. think it might have been the vocals. agreed about easyworld; they had some great songs. '2nd amendment' was fantastic. Two of my favourite bands, took me forever to find their albums to buy! How come? Im guessing you didnt try to buy them when they first came out?

Yes its amazing how long they have been together. Very few bands start so young and keep going and Tim doesnt really look any older than he did when they started. Doesnt seem like they will be stopping anytime soon either which is good as they are still one of the best bands around.

You lucky thing! I've seen Ash many times (mostly in their early years) and wish I could have been there tonight. Not surprisingly, the band I have seen most are Suede. I've seen them around 40 times. It was a good night. Half of Bloc Party came on and did two songs whilst Grant from Feeder did a Nirvana cover with them. I wish I had seen Suede more but amazingly I have only really got into them in recent years but saw them at the O2 and at Brixton. They are a great live band and look forward to seeing them again. Also festival shows are included for me as its still seeing a band live. I have seen The Pipettes a lot and might be into double figures with them and I might be into double figures with Idlewild as well.

I have just got back from seeing Ash celebrate 20 years of being a band tonight and Im pretty certain they are the band I have seen live the most and the figure is probably around the 20 mark. I didnt actually see them until 2001 either. Also up there for me would be Kaiser Chiefs and Less Than Jake, although I did see them 6 nights running which boosts them.

I thought Raoul was the best song they did. Its funny that Pennie seemed to annoy reviewers, but I thought he made them stand out from the others and he really added to the band especially live. Ive just reminded myself of Steve McQueen and its not bad and actually got to 18 in the charts which is better than most of the bands named on her managed with the first single on their second album. Apparently they are still going although the members are working on different projects. Pennie is apparently now in a band called The Goodtime Boys.

Not sure if they are still going or not but they released two more albums after the debut. The problem for them was Monster was almost too big and most people werent interested in the other stuff and their unique selling point, the screaming keyboard player, left. Not listened to the album for a long time but I seem to remember that it wasnt up to much past the singles.

Hard-Fi's first album was one of the best from that time, but they are an awful live band and its no surprise they havent got anywhere near to producing the goods since. Love the Air Traffic album as well and they tried to do a 2nd album but split before getting chance to do it which was a shame as I felt they were a band who couldve got better. My Red Cell actually got back together and did a couple of gigs last year although I didnt go. The lead singer is part of another band who actually supported Little Man Tate on their last tour. Hadnt realised Dogs had split up but its not a surprise I am surprised they lasted as long as they did. The Kinesis first album is brilliant and they should have been huge but they were just before indie came popular again. They did bring out a 2nd album and split on the same day.
Another couple of bands that spring to mind are Easyworld and Hoggboy. Both should have been bigger than they were, especially Easyworld, but alas they were around at the wrong time.

Bravery? For one song?
I think a lot of people are waiting to hear more Black Kids, looking doubtful after all this time though.

i got into milburn before they released anything, their demos were amazing but then they re-recorded them for their album, one or 2 came off ok but most were not as good, still worth a listen, their second album bar one song was pretty poor little man tate i like, bit more quirky, just never listened to them as much but liked 4 or 5 songs off their first album dogs were amazing, not to be confused with the awful dogs die in hot cars, their debut album was good but for me their second album has some amazing tunes on that stood the test of time a lot better, i only listen to the second album now nine black alps had an amazing debut album, up there with boy kill boy but their second album although not as bad as boy kill boy was underwhelming, "everytime i turn" is amazing, "burn faster" "bitter end" and "forget my name" are worth a listen I actually think Little Man Tates 2nd album is better than the first but they are both good. Id love to enter them in HIT but obviously they had top 40 hits so I cant. Worth checking out though if you like some of the first album stuff. I got the Send In The Boys single by Milburn and I thought all three tracks on that were good but the album was a shocker and the 2nd even worse. The problem both bands had was they got compared to the Arctic Monkeys all the time because they were also from Sheffield. To be fair Milburn did sound a lot like them (Little Man Tate less so in my view) but were actually around before the Arctic Monkeys so they nicked their sound but just made much better songs. Im not sure I have ever listented to the Dogs 2nd album. Ive got a feeling they are still going or they were in the not to distant past at the very least. I didnt mind Dogs Die In Hot Cars that album had some decent singles on it.

Milburn had one or two good songs but the album was awful and Little Man Tate were much the better Sheffield band. Dogs had some cracking songs on that first album (Im sure they did a 2nd). The first Nine Black Alps album is one of the best albums from that period I reckon and they were a great live band. Just a shame they couldnt follow it up
Others have mentioned Acarde Fire but I fully agree with Paddy. They have done a couple of decent songs but are such an over-rated band for me.

Feeder, Maximo Park, Morning Runner, Killers, Boy Kill Boy or Biffy for me. Boy Kill Boy another one of those bands who managed to produce one decent album but just couldnt follow it up. I seem to remember the 2nd album being really bad, some cracking tunes on the 1st though.
