I will just go and put the debut album on and remind myself what an amazing band they were then. They haven't even come close to that effort since.

Thought I would bring this thread back as I saw them at their 10th birthday gig on Wednesday night. It had been a while since I saw them live last but it was a cracking night and given he can't even sing Eddie Argos is one of the best frontmen around.

They were although I hope no band I like ever plays Ally Pally again. Such a pain to get to and from and I don't think it works as a music venue.

It is a shame as I only saw them live once at Reading a couple of years ago and they were fantastic. Made some fantastic songs over the years.

Great to see Air Traffic on here and ironically I listened to the album today after a song of theirs came up randomly on my ipod and I thought I need to listen to that album. It is a shame they never got round to doing a 2nd or were bigger than they were.

Direct Hit is the best song they have done in my view. Suggest you all check out the other albums and you can tell they progressed musically from the first album along the way.

They haven't done a bad album and are always a cracking watch live. Got to say though this all feels a little pointless given if you are a fan you will probably have all the albums anyway.

Not much of a departure from their other stuff and I prefer them when they are a bit more upbeat, but its solid enough.

The reaction to the number 1 on Twitter makes you wonder who did actually vote for it because I didn't see on positive comment. Given how little the station actually play Coldplay it was a surprise to me, but I guess a lot of fans must have voted. Don't think they have shot themselves in the foot though given some of the bands who are high up like British Sea Power.

What songs did they do?

Well I suppose at the moment a 5000 capacity gig is small for Kasabian as they are onto the arenas and topping festival bills. I would say a lot of bands would think they have made it if they get to headline Brixton and the next step up would be places like Wembley Arena and the O2 although I think Hammersmith Apollo is a bit bigger than Brixton.

Better than I thought then!, shame silver albums are not seen as much worth the paper they are written on. Brixton Academy is quite a big place then is it?, never been there before and November will be my first time. I love Brixton Academy I think its the best big venue in London. It holds 5000 people. I must admit Im a little surprised Feeder are going back up to it as they played the Roundhouse and Shepards Bush Empire on their most recent tours and they would be about half that size. I might go to the gig myself as Id like to see the new stuff played live although dont have a ticket as off yet.

To try and answer a few questions above. Glasto always sells out within hours now although a few tickets will go back on sale at a later date and I have picked up tickets that way a couple of times in the past. You can just put a deposit down for your ticket and pay the full balance at a later date. You also need to register first which includes sending them via email or post a passport size photo. If you have never been you should go as it really is unlike any other Festival. I wouldnt worry about the line up either as there is so much other stuff going on and you will see thinks you wouldnt normally see. The last couple of times I have wanted to see very few bands, but I know that Im still going to see lots of non music stuff.
As I said before this Reading was the first I have missed since 99 and I havent been to any festival this year. I live in London so I have been travelling to Reading each day the last 3/4 years but I have been wanting to see fewer and fewer bands on the bill and it just didnt seem worth going anymore. I do feel I have been there done that with Festivals now and although I wouldnt rule out going to one again I think there would have to be a pretty special reason for me to go and put up with the mud and rain.

Get the Joy Formidable's album it was the best one to be released last year in my view and they are amazing live. Also the Kaiser Chiefs are one of the best live bands around and you have put the exact reasons why they are. Give me them any day of the week over a dull, bland hipster band. Also if you havent you should check out the Billy Talent albums they are a great band and they are in my top 3 gigs of all time. Billy Talent!, I remember when they released "Try Honesty", it was all over Kerrang TV, then they just faded from the UK radar. In Europe they are huge and one of their albums was big in Austria. Not sure thats true they played Brixton Academy the last time they toured over here, their biggest seller is the 2nd album which went silver, whilst the 3rd album is the only one to have gone top 40. Red Flag is their biggest single which was on the 2nd album. So I would say they got a fair bit bigger after after Try Honesty. As for hotels upping their prices you can hardly blame them as they know the demand is going to be there so they are going to make as much money as possible.

First year I havent been since 1999. Maybe Paramore wouldnt let the BBC film them as they are one of the dullest bands I have ever seen live and this is coming from someone who has all their albums.

Yes I have read plenty on that. I was pretty central and not far in front of the barrier they had hope so wasnt that close to a speaker, but although the odd person behind me was saying turn it up I thought the sound was fine. Ive been to many outdoor gigs and festivals and have heard a lot worse, the main stage at Reading has become really bad in recent years unless you are stood underneath a speaker. I just hope in a way that given the sound issues it will make Blur do another gig to make up for it. Id love to see them somewhere like the O2. I did get the impression though that some people had paid £65 just for a day out in the park rather than to see Blur.

Great night last night and as I was ill in 09 glad to have finally righted that wrong. Still didnt top their Glasto set for me though. They way Damon was at the end suggested he thinks it might well be the end, but given how good Under The Westway sounded last night I really hope it isnt.
