You have so far got my single of the year accurate each time even though you are using a different points system to me. But "Alone Again (Naturally)" is only my top single of 1972 by points. In reality it's a clear 3rd behind "You're So Vain" which only entered right at the end of the year and crosses into 1973 and "Starman".
"Changes" wasn't eligible for my chart as it didn't reach the UK top 50 or US top 40. I have no idea why it didn't chart in the UK, probably just didn't get enough airplay.
From your list, The Sweet will have a big #1 in my chart but it won't be with "Blockbuster".

I'm not sure when I'll have my next playlist ready. The Scottish World Cup Squad song is on it as well as "Tottenham Tottenham" and the England World Cup Squad song is in the current chart.
Yet the only song from these charts you'll hear on terraces now is at #5 in the above chart.

In 2013 it was clear my top artist of that year was Tich but she never released an album. I think there was supposed to be one planned for 2014 but that never happened either. One of the songs planned for it ended up with Little Mix. Plus the first 4 songs from the initial Candlelight EP got withdrawn from Spotify in 2014 including her best ever song, replaced by a sh*te uptempo version.
Very few names on that list conjure up any great memories for me other than maybe Bastille whose song "Pompeii" was a great anthem and my 2013 Time Machine entry which came 2nd.

Kingmaker - Sleepwalking
Reached their favourite UK peak position of 15, the same as "Ten Years Asleep" as well as "Eat Yourself Whole" the previous year but they never peaked higher or got the recognition, maybe because they peaked before Britpop really took off, and are not normally considered among Britpop acts.

A few that should be higher, but particularly "This Is How It Feels", one of the singles of the year. It was out the same week though as "Birdhouse In Your Soul" which was another classic of the year.
A lot of the best songs were out around those weeks.
Not enough appreciation on here for "Still Got The Blues For You". I didn't expect it to be that big on here though. Not enough appreciation by the UK public either, unfortunately. But I bought it.

I have my playlist already run into 1991 and I'm now skipping songs that came out previously so "Blue Hotel" by Chris Isaak is supposed to now chart in 1987 wyen it spent its one week at #100.
The issue though is with "Sit Down" by James, for which the 1991 version was a totally new version, but was also massive in my chart. I guess it can be massive again as it's a different version to the one that came out in 1989.

Looking at the points totals when they were number one I think "Enjoy The Silence" may end as the year's #1. In my chart it reached #2, one of many of Depeche Mode's singles to peak at that position. Their only NM #1 was way back in 1982 with "See You".

I do wonder why, in spite of the fact it's quite a popular Christmas song, the Waitresses "Christmas Wrapping" isn't one of the songs that continually recharts and has never got higher than its initial #45 peak. It came close in 2018 reaching #46 and this year doesn't show up at all.

-- ( -- ) Always On My Mind - Willie Nelson -- ( -- ) You Got The Power - War -- ( -- ) I'm Your Toy - Elvis Costello
Oh yeah, this bunch of songs. So "Fantastic Day" is a good follow-up to "Love Plus One" but not going to get to the top. And "Promised You A Miracle" is really the first Simple Minds song I remember.
"Ebony And Ivory" was constantly on the radio, Paul McCartney back and with Stevie Wonder on the song but it was also made clear they didn't meet for the video. At the time it didn't get the derision it did later on. Or at least nobody I knew appeared to hate it. And of course he's part of 2 entries in this chart, that Beatles Movie Medley... And while we're at it, let's have a Rolling Stones entry too.
Going past that Junior song we then get the England World Cup Squad and the UK Eurovision entry. In both cases the Germans did better although they drew 0-0 against England and would have gone out had England beaten Spain by 2 goals but England drew blanks against Spain who were already eliminated but were the host nation.
Really Saying Something was recorded by the Velvelettes in 1964 but didn't reach the US top 40 so wasn't an NM hit either.
David Bowie, how do you put out fires with gasoline, gasoline would make the fire burn more? And if this is in the chart, Body Language by Queen must be round the corner. (It's on my next playlist).

I reckon that as it's on points the number one of the year in my chart was clearly "Still Got The Blues For You" by Gary Moore. Also helped by the fact "Freedom '90" by George Michael is still in the chart at the end without enough time to catch up.
George Michael had another number one in the year so may end up as top act.
In the Haven chart of the year I think "It Must Have Been Love" by Roxette could be at the top.

I'd rank France above England. Ok I know in the last Euros they lost in the last 16 round and we reached the final, so we have a runner-up and quarter-final and they have a runner-up and last-16. We're way above Belgium now though, they're football has-beens.
